Although the building itself is slightly weird, the hotel itself is very tastefully decorated and furnished. There is an amazing view from the terrace and the restaurant. The staff are extremely well trained and friendly. We didn't have the breakfast but regret it as it looked amazing and is good value compared to the cafes and hotels nearby. The pool and spa area are a bonus and plenty of towels are provided.

Room tip: Views of the lake presumably cost more.

The original castle on this site was built in 1170. Since then it has been knocked down, re-built, knocked down again until it was converted into a hotel in the late 19th Cent.
Obviously it has been renovated periodically since then and it is currently a wonderful place to stay, right on the banks of Lake Leman (Lake Geneva). The inside no longer has the feel of a castle although the outside certainly looks like a castle. The location is convenient to the train station and walking distance from the Old Town, although it is mostly uphill, Our room was spacious, clean, and had one of the nicer bathrooms on our trip across Europe. The area around the hotel has plenty of restaurants and shopping and the hotel has a first class restaurant of it's own. We only ate there for breakfast one day but it definitely excellent. The bar is very modern and carries a complete assortment of spirits, beer, and wine. The staff are efficient and helpful. This was our first visit to Lausanne but I can't imagine a better place to stay if we are ever back in the area.

Room tip: Rooms with a lake view and a high floor are preferrable

Staying at the Chateau d'ouchy was a great experience: service always friendly and heartful; room is spotlessly clean and well kept (loved the design). View to the lake and the mountains is breathtaking; and dining options are fine. Adjacent train station makes traveling around Lausanne very easy and accessible. Will definitely want to return.

The building is beautiful, with a great ambience. It is by Lake Geneva and in a safe location, very close to all major sites and the metro station. All staff were extremely helpful and promptly answered queries and honoured guest requests.
We were greeted by the very helpful Esteban on arrival and shown to our room, which was very tastefully decorated. The bathroom was a good size with a walk in shower.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend this luxury small hotel. The only slight downsides were that the AC did not go below 20 degrees celsius, and there were no kind size duvets available, only singles, which made it less comfortable for my wife and I.
I also had to ask for a kettle and teacups to make tea, which are normally provided in all hotels.
Overall this hotel was excellent and we would happily stay here again.
