This hotel is perfect in almost every way. Bedrooms are beautifully appointed with separate loos and great bathrooms. Lovely swimming pool. Very convenient location near the lakeside and 5 minutes from the Metro. Staff good. Have marked it 4 out of 5 as double beds made up of 2 very soft single beds. My husband woke me up every time he turned over and vice versa. Also no one to help carry luggage. There are a lot of steps! On balance would stay there again.

I stayed at the hotel for business and always enjoy residing there. The rooms are fairly large and comfortable. It is situated across the street from Lake Geneva.

There's a small fitness center which is nice, however if the weather is beautiful, I definitely recommend a walk or run along the side of Lake Geneva. There are beautiful gardens next door at the Beau Rivage palace and the Olympic museum.

The breakfast is amazing with an international buffet. It is a definite treat!

I had room service one evening which was very good, quick, and generous.

I hope to return!

Our reception staff during check in was extremely helpful, pleasant, and professional. Our luggage was missing and she did everything she could to help make our stay as comfortable as possible. I also asked for several things to be delivered to the room during our stay, and every time the staff came immediately. Breakfast was extremely good with many choices and good quality food.

One point for improvement was that the outdoor pool did not have any food menu options. There was a supermarket nearby where we could buy food to eat, but it would be nice to have some simple bite options by the pool.

Overall great hotel with exceptional hospitality and pleasant rooms.

This first-class hotel is worth every one of its well-earned stars. It overlooks Lac Leman and is in the heart of the elegant shoreline district of Ouchy, close to the Olympic Museum, the parks and a cluster of other grand hotels, of which the A&R is the most contemporary in style.

Reception staff are welcoming and helpful as previous reviewers have noted but we would have appreciated being shown to our room in a separate building rather than having to find our own way through the garden.

Facilities are excellent and we appreciated the ease of car parking in an area where that could be challenging. Once parked, we left the car and used the excellent public transport system starting from the nearby metro station. The landscaping was impressive and the outdoor pool area would have been appreciated by anyone staying more than a night.

As noted by a previous reviewer, it's well worth paying the extra for one of the rooms with a lake view which combines natural beauty with constant activity on the water. The room was comfortably furnished and the bathroom fully equipped at luxury hotel standards. The ordered rollaway bed was not in place on arrival but delivered and set up within minutes when we called down to reception. Although the queen bed was extremely comfortable, the rollaway wasn't: surely modern technology can design a spare bed to give even teenagers a reasonably comfortable night!

We dined out which may have been a mistake because breakfast in the hotel restaurant on the promenade offered a high standard of choice, quality and presentation.

Like Lausanne itself, the A&R is built on a hillside which means walking up an outside flight of steps to get into the building where our room was located. The corridors through the building were narrow and unattractive and gave little hint of the designer elegance of the room itself.

It was thoughtful of the reception staff to give us an adaptor for the unique Swiss power points and all the technical stuff worked well: air conditioning, shower power,TV, wi-fi etc.

Overall, not perfect but very nearly and it has the management team that will make it really great: they listen & respond to feedback.

Room tip: Lake view worth the premium price

Lovely hotel. Nice rooms and really good quality bedding, towels and toiletries. The location is fantastic for strolling around Ouchy waterfront. We felt the restaurant was very expensive for breakfast and instead breakfasted at Chateau d'Ouchy cafe opposite which is part of the same chain anyway.
