Each year, we treat ourselves to this spectacular meal-on-water. It's not cheap, but it's absolutely delicious. Prepared by the 5* kitchen chefs of one of Lausanne's luxury hotels, we discovered this feat some 4 years ago and it became a tradition. If you're looking for something special, well, this certainly is!

Tourists and locals should all take this easy, breezy cruise. It really is a nice treat and the views are quite spectacular!

A must during the summer. Depending on the time one can spend two hours or even a whole day. We spend a whole day going from Coppet all the way to Montreux and did not even leave the boat! The areas are very different so it is never a boring trip. From the lovely views of Yvorre (once a pirate's den) to wine-clad Lavaux, past the statue of Freddy Mercury in Montreux to the Chateau de Chillon, returning via the roman port of Lausanne to Nyon founded by Cesar himself, the trip is a delight. Food on board is decent.

However, one can opt for a shorter trip. Then recommended is a visit to Yvoire, to have lunch there and then return. One can also return via Nyon, visit this place on the little tourist train that will await visitors when they descend from the boat and bring them back in time of the next one.

The steam-paddle is a must when visiting Geneva and a good way to see some of the surrounding villages.

The paddle boat in Lausanne runs the biggest route in the Grand-Lac, the widest part of the lake. We bought the ticket to Thonon-les-Bains. The lake in Lausanne is huge and provide a paranomic view to the landscapes around, especially seeing the Alpes in the middle of the lake. Very awesome!

Had a beautiful 3 hour trip on "La Suisse" Paddle Steamer which has been steaming for 100 years this year. My wife gave me a wonderful 50th Birthday treat going from Chateaux Chillon to Lausanne return and enjoyed a 3 course Dinner also. We experienced a wonderful time on this old steamer. What a wonderful way to pass the time looking out as you sailed on Lake Geneva. The staff were great and helpful. Meals on broad were great also. The only thing missing was some lazy summer day jazz music. In all great value for the money and to relax as the world passed by. Recommend all to try if possible. Beautiful memories. The Champagne helped!!!!! You can get on and off the boat at different points on the lake. Check timetable before and try to be on time......
