“Nice relaxing cafe”
Reviewed May 7, 2012

We came here for dinner on a Saturday night - surprisingly there was still seats because the cafe is usually full on a weekday night.

The service was great - the waiter patiently translated the French menu for us to English. The place has a good relaxing ambience.

Food was average though wine is cheap. Would be back here.

“"Try the mussels, miss. TRY THE MUSSELS!"”
Reviewed March 1, 2012

I love this place. For two years in Lausanne this has been one of my favorite hangouts. The staff is very friendly and don't get their pants all in a bunch if you don't feel like practising your weak French when ordering. They like to recommend things, and when they do the local regulars tend to join in - I have been coerced into having the mussles more than once. That's not a bad thing, however, as the food is good :)
During the summer, sit outside, have one of their wonderful salads, mussels or pasta dishes and watch people. For the rest of the year, get a group of friends and book a table.

Oh, the only downside: They're closed on Sundays.

“Ethnic Taste in a quiet little Swiss town”
Reviewed December 25, 2011

This dinner was after an EPFL architectural review, and was a highly enjoyable meal. The atmosphere brought closer to a mediterranean bistro, yet, had a high quality of french/swiss style. Overall, the cuisine was authentic to the Tanjines of which I tried. All of us had a taste of their Tanjines L'Aegneau and some of my colleagues had the Tanjine Royale among other dishes, like the Fillet du Cheval. The prices were average for a Swiss Cuisine but definitely more than one would expect in the average american pricing, yet not too much different from what one would pay in New York.
I would also suggest one trying their daily dessert menues, and also the mousse aux marrons.

Overall experience: A-

“friendly service, nice ambience, close to train station”
Reviewed October 28, 2011

Ate here on a Saturday evening. I really liked the atmosphere here -- well-lit, racks of magazines and newspapers along one wall, and friendly service (the manager was chatting with some older men -- I think regulars -- when I approached the cafe, and promptly stood up to see if he could help me when I stopped to study the menu). Enjoyed a glass of good Lutry wine and an entree (schnitzel, poached pears, stewed goat, and brussels sprouts) for 30 EUR (including tip) (approx. 34 USD) -- a bit underseasoned for my taste, and the schnitzel a bit tough, but if I had been in Lausanne longer I might have come back for a drink and to try something else. The map on the back of their business card made me smile (visible at their website under "Where is it?").

“Time to become a regular”
Reviewed July 26, 2011

I went for the first time a couple of weeks back and loved the atmosphere, down to earth with a nice and simple look to it, the owner is very friendly, service isn't great because it seemed it was their first time serving. Great place to go eat with a group of friends.
