“a no go”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2012

since every restaurant in lausanne is equally expansive there's really no reason to come here.
The service, though nice enough, is very incompetent. It took more than an hour to get our order of 3 salads and a burger.
The salad dressing was of the industrial- bottled kind (the same dressing for 3 different kinds of skald) and the vegetables were a but "old".
The burger was the worst part though- over cooked, no taste and chewy. the fries that came with it were obviously reheated rather than being served fresh from the frier.
It's a shame because the place has a nice terrace and is very close to the Pathe cinema but it's just not worth it.

“Beatiful in the sun- exciting food and service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 6, 2012

This bar/restaurant is located in the midst of a busy street ( mostly pedestrians) and have a great outdoor serving area. Bring a book and your sunglasses and enjoy the warmth from the sun and from the service, The fish and chips is quite different and exquisite, the fish is local and originally prepared.
Great for a light lunch or a drink etc

“Good location - food average”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 4, 2012 via mobile

The Petit Chene has an excellent terrace and is always busy with passers by. We stopped every day for drinks on the terrace. The staff are excellent.
One evening we ate here. The food was ok and slightly on the expensive side but the fact our hotel was a few yards away made up for that, with not far to get back.

“Nice big protion, OK food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 16, 2012

Me and my colleagues live in a hotel very close to the train station and the fact we are all Chinese we decide to try this place one night.
All three of us ordered they "house" noodle and a spicy pork, a tofu dish, and one other dish. The noodle is a nice big bow that should feed most people. The dish is OK consider we are in Switzerland.

The downside of this place is the eating environment and the service. No fancy decorations, the tables are old and the cloth is a little dirty. the owner and staff are uncaring. When I asked what kind meat is inside the noodle bow, the staff was very impatient when answering.

This is a good place to hangout with friends and have some quick dinner but avoid it if you want to have a nice environment when eating.

“Nice place to sit with a coffee and laptop”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2011

On a pedestrian street up the hill from the station, this cafe/restaurant has both a pleasant terrace in the sunshine and plenty of room inside for when it gets dark. Wide menu and set meals, but nothing unusual. Best of all was the good wifi system and the fact that they didn't seem to mind you sitting with your laptop and taking a long time to drink a small coffee.
