The Breithorn is a 4164 meter peak next to Matterhorn glacvier apradise. It is wonderful to Behold from Gornergrat to Rothorn.

I climbed, or should I say walked up, this mountain in July 2016. Signed up for a group with the Zermatt Alpine Center and was put together with 5 other hardy soles and the guide. After the gondola ride to Klein Matterhorn the guide roped us together and we set off. It's not really a climb, but a hike across a glacier. It can be fairly difficult as there's a lot less oxygen than at sea level, or even in the village, but it is not a technical climb.

If you have ever wanted to make it to the top of a 4000+ meter peak then this is probably one of the easiest. From the top of klein matterhorn you can traverse the glaciere and it's only a couple of hundred meters vertical. However, you have to be careful and know what you're doing. There are crevasses and weather changes very quickly around the peak, in less than a few minutes you may not be able to see anything if you're unlucky. Careful footing at the top.

What a wonderful end to a week spent hiking and Haute Route (glacier) from Chamonix to Zermatt. We went up in the cable cars and the views were spectacular, although extremely expensive (CHF 100). To get to the top of the Breithorn you need to be with an experienced person or guide and you need to have ice axe and crampons, know how to use them and be roped up because you are going over crevasses and it is very steep. The views from the top are spectacular.
