We just got back from a short (1 night) stay in Zermatt. The Bellerive exceeded our expectations on every level. We were traveling with our 6 year old daughter and 2 year old son. We had a Junior Suite which was more than enough room (we could have made it work with a regular room). The people who run the hotel went out of there way to make us comfortable.

The hotel is right near the center of town and only a block from the most incredible view of the Matterhorn.

Also, the breakfast was fantastic!

This place is a great hotel, great value, great service. Can't recommend it enough.

We just spent 3 nights at the Bellerive in a Junior Suite. We had originally planned on spending 2 nights, but loved it so much we stayed a third. We walked from the train station; we didnt have much luggage and it gave us a chance to check out the town. The hotel is in a great location. Our check in was quick and simple and within minutes we were shown our room. Beautifully decorated, our room was airy and bright and had a great view. We unfortunately did not have a Matterhorn view (that would have made everything perfect). Note that breakfast was included and a great spread. I especially loved that breakfast was served to our room as per our specifications. The spa area was beautiful and I fell in love with the steam room. Over all a great time. Also check out the restaurant just beside the hotel. The Oso Bucco was delish. When we left we forgot out phone charger. We figured we would just buy a new one, but to our surprise we just received it in the mail today with a nice little note from the hotel.

Very much appreciated. Thank you!! Definately visit this hotel!!

Room Tip: We had the Junior Suite which was huge. Especially loved the shower.

Kajia and her husband were wonderful hosts at this lovely hotel in central Zermatt. We arrived on the train and the hotel's electric taxi was waiting to collect us. Be sure to call ahead to let them know when you will arrive. The room was modern, spotless and had a great balcony with a Matterhorn view. We could have spent all afternoon on that balcony, but there was much hiking to be done. Our hosts suggested itineraries and always had a cold beer ready on our return. We stayed for three nights in summer and now we are ready to go back to ski. This is a lovely hotel with wonderful owners and staff.

Room Tip: Ask for a Matterhorn view! It's not too expensive and breakfast is even included.

Stayed in Summer, didn't realise that the hotel has NO AIR-CONDITIONING this might be the case for other hotels in Zermatt, but not for some I've already stayed in. I understand that the temperature for most of the year does not warrant air-conditioning but for the price you pay per night, this should be included or at the very least a fan (which was not an option) apart from this, the hotel is located close to everything Matterhorn has to offer and the staff are nice enough.

Our hosts Kajia and Mario were warm and delightful. They helped us plan our hikes and directed us to the best place to watch fireworks on Swiss Independence Day. They also arranged to have us picked up at the train station and Mario himself drove us back.
Great location, central but a few blocks from the main street so it was fairly quite We stayed here three nights in room 305 which was very quiet and had a balcony with view of the Matterhorn. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The hotel is very tastefully decorated and has some wonderful little features such as loan of an IPad to surf the web. --Breakfast was excellent--lots of variety and some extras such as fresh squeezed OJ and smoked salmon.

We were booked here for two nights in a double deluxe room on the second floor after having spent six nights in the Bernese Oberland. The hotel is a ten minute walk from the Zermatt train station and a taxi is recoomended if one is carrying heavy luggage. While the entrance to the hotel had a well manicured lawn with pretty flowers and a cute well, the room inside was very spacious despite the third bed, the decor very chic and the walls adorned with beautiful paintings / portraits. There was a private balcony with a decent view. The wifi connection was complimentary and super quick. Katja, the owner was charming and helpful; she guided us with tourist brochures and with some directions.

The hotel offers a complimentary jacuzzi and sauna which was a great place to unwind after an exhausting day! We then had the chance to have a few drinks and snacks in front of a glass enclosed fireplace on both the evenings which made up for a very romantic and cosy setting amidst the freezing temperatures outside. They do not have a restaurant in house, but food was arranged from a nearby restaurant and laid out on one of the breakfast tables lying in the lobby. The beds were so cosy that five hours of sleep felt like eight. The breakfast imo was average but no complaints.

Katja's hospitality is something we will cherish - it was amazing watching the lady run the entire show herself. We were dropped to the Zermatt train station by the hotel van upon an early morning checkout which we had not asked for but just an indication of the Swiss hospitality at its best! This was a true five star experience 5 out of 5! We will remember this stay for a very long time and will return in the future.

Having been in Zermatt many times , I can say with certainty that this hotel is perfect - great range of rooms , super breakfast , fantastic friendly staff whose attention to detail makes this a 5 star hotel in my view - the location is a super combination of peacefulness and convenience to the town centre and all the lifts/railways
So if you want super service, great rooms , excellent amenities and good value - this is the place

Alun and Elaine will be back again and again

Room Tip: Room 302 or 104 are fab
