We arrived at the hotel around 11am and was pleased that the hotel allowed us to check in early after our tiring 3 hour train ride from Zurich. Christine showed us to our room at the highest floor (4th floor) and we were very happy with the view we got from our room balcony. We could see the Matterhorn! We got the corner room and it was spacious, comfortable and modern in design with a huge bathroom where you could see the alps from your bathroom windows. The room seemed to have air-conditioning (I'm not sure or was it the cool air from the outside) but it was cooling when we were in our room (not stuffy even when you close all the windows and balcony doors). Wifi was free and worked well in the room and breakfast was great with croissants, bread, cheese, ham, cereals, juice, etc. Christine was very helpful and she even showed us the webcam for Gornergrat and Glacier Paradise and gave us some advise on altitude sickness as my wife was worried about getting it.

The hotel is conveniently located about 5 minutes walk from the main Zermatt train station & the Gornergrat train station (just opposite the main station). Once you exit from the train station, walk straight ahead, past the Co-op supermarket, past Macdonalds and Bucherer watch shop and you will see the hotel on your left after about 5 minutes walk (it is before the green cross sign outside the pharmacy). The most memorable part of our stay was chilling out at our super long balcony (shared with 2 other rooms), eating our dinner there while gazing at the Matterhorn as the sun sets. Simply unforgettable.

My tip : Definitely worth paying a little more for a room with Matterhorn view. You won't regret it.

Room Tip: Worth paying more for a room with a Matterhorn view. Ask for higher floor.

Stayed for a night only but I love this hotel. We arrived early so room was not ready. The lady at the recept recommended us some places to go and even showed us the webcam on the places. Room and bathroom very clean and spacious with a big wardrobe. There is even a bottle of complimentary drink and a coffee machine with 4 different types of coffee to choose from. Very rare in Europe hotels. Excellent location as it is near to train station and gornergrat bahn where you take the train to Matterhorn. Breakfast included and I love the bread!

Had a very satisfied stay and will stay here again if I am back in Zermatt.

Room Tip: Thinking all rooms come with Matterhorn view, we did not put a request on that so we got a room with...

We stayed here for 3 nights a week back and chose this hotel bcoz of the location (100 m from zermatt station) and the price. The lady at the reception was very courteous and was kind enough to show us our room. My wife liked the rooms. It was big and spacious with double wardrobes. Bathrooms were also big.The coffemaker was helpful. The balcony had a good view of the matterhorn. In fact I could see the matterhorn in the morning from my bed. Towels were changed and rooms cleaned. I had some problem on the first day with the passcode for the automatic lock of the main door which was soon rectified. The hotel doesnot have a restaurant but their ample nearby. Good for family stay.

Breakfast was included in room tariff and was very awful. It had few selections and was a complete waste for me and my wife.

Room Tip: take the rooms with Matterhorn view. Put a request early. They dont charge anything extra.

Spent a few nights here after hiking down from the fabulous little Berghotel Trift; relatively large and comfortable room for Zermatt, right on the main street but still quiet at night -- good windows! Nice breakfast, friendly management, excellent modern bathroom, altogether a good place to sleep in town.

This is a small hotel with recently renovated rooms. We booked a superior room directly with the hotel. It did not disappoint us. We had a magnificent view of Matterhorn. The bathroom was beautiful, huge and had 2 windows with a mountain view.
The hotel is situated close to the train station, which was the main reason we booked it. Reception personally escorted us to our room and explained the coffee making facilities.
Breakfast was included, and was very adequate.
There is no grand reception area, but we were very happy with this hotel. It was one of the most affordable of our trip. We would definitely recommend it.

My wife and I stopped here for a night after doing the Glacier Express. We were very presently surprised by our host. His courtesy and friendliness were greatly appreciated after my wife and I were separated when the train was split halfway through the journey! The room was very comfortable and the view was lovely. We had a lovely bath, instead of a shower for a change! There was even a espresso machine in the room. This hotel is either brand new or really well maintained. One thing to mention. We bought a power adaptor from Australia and for the first time on our trip it won't fit into the power socket. Apart from this little problem, our stay was perfect. Thank you Gerard, it was a pleasure.
