“Best Boutique Hotel we've ever being to”
Reviewed August 14, 2009

We just returned from Coeurs de Alps. This is undoubtadly one of the finest and unique Boutique Hotels in the world. It's unclear why it's listed as B&B. It's not! It's a boutique hotel run by the owners, Leni and Thomas. The architecture and artistic design are modern, and original with attention to every detail. The lobby has a glass floor that overlooks the swimming pool. The wellness center is top notch. The location is very close (3 minute walk) to the gondola , and under 10 minutes to the town center. The loft we stayed in had "floating" bed on the second floor, high windows, with terrace looking at the Matterhorn. The hospitality is perfect. It has the family touch of the owners who build the place and give their soul and attention to each guest. They don't impose on you the suffocating 1/2 board package that forces you to eat dinner at the same place , same table, same people every day... The stay here was the highlight of our visit to the Alps and we will certainly return. It beats 5* hotels by a mile.

We found this hotel on tripadvisor and it’s all true what the other reviews are saying. Good location close to town and to the cable car to the Klein Matterhorn. The hotel is very modern and you can see everywhere that Heinz Julen designed it. A luxury hotel in the mountain. Heinz sister is running the hotel and the whole family is helping as well. It’s a very personalized service. Don’t hesitate to book one of the Lofts. Great view to the town or the Matterhorn. All lofts are equipped with a Nespresso Coffee machine for a great start into the day. Breakfast offers a lot of local Swiss products which is very nice. Thanks again to all staff and we hope to be back next year. Note that the hotel only offers bed & breakfast.

This hotel is lovely!! It has an almost James Bond kind of feel to it - elegant and sophisticated! We have just spent 3 nights there on our honeymoon and had a fab time!! Prosecco on arrival and our room was decorated with chocolates and a welcome message for the newlyweds!!! A lovely touch!! We loved the outdoor hot tub as well as the swimming pool and spa facilities! This hotel is in a great location and we would not hesitate to stay here again in the future!!!

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, and wished I had planned for more days. The hotel is really cozy and chic, and what is most special is the staff. Wonderful, caring, warm, attentive people. Definitely would stay there again, if ever in this beautiful city. Keep up the great work, guys!

We just spent a week in Switzerland and Zermatt was definitely the highlight of the trip.
Coeur des Alpes is definitely one of the best small hotels we have stayed in, it was just so effortlessly heavenly beautiful!

1. Hotel
Leni picked us up from the train station, which was very convenient as we have quite a few pieces of luggage. The hotel is at the far end of the town facing Matterhorn, which I think is much quieter. Everything in the hotel is just impeccable, the lobby is clean and stylish, exclusive view of the Matterhorn peak. During our stay, the hotel is very quite, so we don’t feel crowded anywhere. There are normally 1-2 other people in the spa, but no more, which is exactly the peace and quite we are looking for.

2. Room
We had the double room; it is quite small, but still very comfortable. We peeked into next door, which shall be a suite; it has a living room and facing the Matterhorn. It definitely worth it, and we will probably book that next time.

3. Breakfast
Breakfast was excellent and simple, continental European style. Leni kindly made us fresh coffee and boiled egg, which are lovely.

4. Spa
The hotel has an indoor swimming pool, and outdoor Jacuzzi, and several sauna rooms. The spa is definitely the highlight of the hotel and has touch of attention and luxury everywhere. There are beautiful leather sofa, herbal team, fresh fruit and snakes, you can just relax, read a book, and leave the world behind.

5. Zermatt
Zermatt is a lovely quaint town; the main street is slightly touristy, but still quite nice. We ate in two of the restaurants the hotel staff recommended Stockhorn, and the other one famous for its own lamb farm (forgot the name). Both are quite pricy, but definitely excellent food.
