Wonderful hotel in a great location. They pick you up from the station and take you back on departure. Very very friendly and nice and clean. Great views of the Matterhorn ( we didn't have a room with the view however our room overlooked the mountains and was just as nice) we only wished we had of stayed another couple of days. A beautiful village to explore. Well worth a stay.

We treated ourselves to a roof top Junior suite which enjoyed stunning views of the Matterhorn, The room was exceptional - finished to a very high standard. The staff were very friendly & helpful and the food was very good. We both enjoyed the Iced water supplied free of charge at meal times. Choice at breakfast was exceptional - we were even offered a glass of Champagne!.
Afternoon tea was excellent and appreciated after one of the many picturesque walks around Zermatt. We could not fault our stay and could recommend this hotel to all.

Room Tip: Junior suites expensive but worth while. The coffee making machine was filled each day with fresh b...

This has to be the best hotel we have ever stayed in. We are a family of four and splashed out on a suite with a view, what can I say other than you must stay here if you like the finer things in life. The room, health club, location, communal areas, food and above all the service are first class. We turned up to the managers drinks reception and he certainly leads by example, what a very pleasant man, who took the time to chat in a very meaningful way. First impressions are that it's a little expensive but all things considered its a steal.

Room Tip: Go for a room with a view of the Matterhorn.

We recently spent a week at this hotel having already stayed here on 2 previous occasions.

Everything was again just the same - perfect. Our Standard Room with a Matterhorn view was lovely. Clean, spacious and plenty of wardrobe and drawer space with an excellent bathroom. Every little detail had been thought of and we were short of nothing.

Breakfast was astounding. There was so much choice that you couldn't wish for anything more. Evening meals were also excellent and the "special events" such as the Dessert Buffett and Barbeque were amazing.

We didn't use the pool or Wellness area so cannot comment on those but there did seem an excellent choice of facilities.

The staff were always very smart, kind and helpful. The Reception staff, Francesco and Ina, the barmaid, were particularly helpful to us.

We particularly liked the way the Manager, Franz Dossetto, was always around the hotel either having breakfast among the guests, helping with any jobs which needed doing or just simply chatting to anyone and everyone. He always looked the perfect gentleman in his suit.

W will certainly be returning to this hotel and hope the high standards remain.

Thank you for a lovely holiday.

On 14th August 2011, Trip Advisor posted my review of The Green Park Hotel in Pitlochry, Scotland, in which I said all hotels should aspire to the excellent standard set by the hotel and its very personable owner. I now repeat this again in respect of the Park Hotel Beau Site in Zermatt. It is an excellent hotel with charming and helpful staff led by the friendly owner who is always on hand to help and greet guests.

We stayed here for two weeks in a Matterhorn view comfort room with a balcony view of the mountain. The room is compact and very comfortable with a large and efficient bathroom. The beds are comfortable and there is masses of storage space in the wardrobes with more than enough hangers. A couple of arm chairs in the room would have been better than the one chair and a desk chair but the two balcony chairs were well used by us each evening watching over the town and mountain. Most nights were clear and we did see climbers' head torches near the summit on occasion.

The food and drink here has been well reviewed and it is top notch. In two weeks there were no repetitions on the dinner menu. The meat and fish barbecue is superb and really recommended. We had raclette and cheese fondue another night and a fish or meat "fondue Chinois" on another. Service is impeccable and friendly. Others have complained about paying for water. I don't get this complaint. Most good restaurants make a cover charge for bread and water so what is the big deal about paying 5 CHF for a litre of delicious iced water here?

My niggle would be about the cost of wine not the water! It is exorbitant for Swiss wine which costs about 15/20 CHF in the wine shop down the road and anything up to 55CHF in the hotel's restaurant. Swiss wine is OK but not great at these prices. I spent over €600 on wine and water for the two of us at dinner during our stay. That is for 1 bottle of water and 1 bottle of average Swiss wine (sometimes a half bottle) and also including the free bottle voucher given on arrival. For this money one should expect something special each night?

Otherwise everything was of an exceptional standard including the Monday evening welcome drinks and tea and cake each afternoon. Another highlight was to be able to read a copy of "The irish Independent" newspaper each morning provided specially by the hotel. The staff and owner of this hotel are to be congratulated for setting such high standards of comfort and service. The hotel is an oasis of calm away from the bustle of Zermatt which sadly is no longer a relaxing Alpine resort of old - it is busy and the streets swamped by thousands of tourists. Worse, despite all the hype, IT IS NOT TRAFFIC FREE! There are electric buggies and carts flying around everywhere at speed and in silence so that you are always looking over your shoulder to avoid getting knocked down. If they don't get you the mountain bikers certainly will. It is safer up in the mountains, which luckily is where we spent most of our days out. They are magnificent and the hiking is second to none - do come and enjoy them at this hotel!

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel for two weeks in July this year. The room was pleasant if slightly on the small side. It was always cleaned well. The weather was very warm and we kept our window open but there was quite a lot of noise from outside. There were workmen around, the train ran behind the hotel, and we could hear the church bells. On the first night there was also a wedding in the hotel. We had travelled all day and were tired but the music from this wedding was loud and kept us awake. The management had left us a letter on our bed saying there was going to be this wedding and we might get disturbance but how glad they were these people had chosen them for their wedding - maybe they were but it was a right din for us!! We understood from other guests that such weddings are a regular occurrence at this hotel and were told there was to be another on the evening of the day we left - rather a lucky miss! The food was good. My partner is vegetarian and they managed to cater excellently for him throughout the whole two weeks. There were different restaurants and one was used for breakfast and the other for dinner. One night we were asked to move from the dinner restaurant because they had a "party" and we had to eat our evening meal in the much less atmospheric breakfast restaurant - we did rather wonder why it was us who had to move as we were paying for a whole two weeks' stay. Everything was expensive for us with the rate of exchange and the annoyance of this was greatly added to in that there was a charge for tap-water in the restaurant!! The hotel was not family run but had a manager who strode around in a suit. He came to say hello to us when we had been there four or five days and asked if we had just arrived. We have been used to rather smaller, family-run hotels on our previous holidays to the Alps and have perhaps been spoiled. By contrast, this hotel seemed a little large and impersonal. However, overall everything was of a generally high standard.

Room Tip: If you go for a Matterhorn-view room you won't get the noise from the railway at 7.00am. Howeve...

Thank you very much for your report about your stay with us. We are really sorry if you felt treated in an impersonally way by the management. We try hart to create a relaxing atmosphere with a personal touch by the host. It's not always easy to reach that goal as it has been happen with you. Of course it is much easier to reach that goal in a smaller hotel as with us with 85 rooms and 162 beds. Anyway, I learned from your comment and won't ask guests any-more if they have arrived to day! :-) You see, even after 18 years as host at the Beau Site I am learning. Woking around in a suite, we think it's just no more than polite against our guests in a four-star superior Hotel.
About the wedding held during your stay, we know that this is sometimes a problem we do apologize for the inconvenience caused by this ceremony. This summer we do have 4 weddings held at the Beau Site. The rooms do have different sizes depending on the category you book Comfort & Superior rooms 18 to 32 square meters, Junior Suites from 34 to 48 square meters and Suites from 48 to 90 square meters.
Otherwise we have been happy to learn from your report that you fully enjoyed your stay with us.
Sending you sunny greetings from the Matterhornparadise we remain with our best wishes

My dad and I stayed at this hotel in 2012, only to return with my family in March 2013 for the best week we could ever ask for. The service is outstanding. Everything the hotel offers, it offers with impeccable performance. The breakfast and dinner are like any top rated restaurant in the world - if not better. The food is divine, the service is world-class, and the staff are wonderful people. The rooms are gorgeous, cleaned flawlessly every day. The pool is beautiful - with amazing saunas and steam rooms. If you're a skier, the commute to either side of Zermatt's lifts is very simple, as the bus is just outside and main station a few blocks away. We stayed in the suite in the new building which is to die for; a sunroom with the best views of Zermatt is at the front. A special note to Alexander, who delivers the best service anyone could ever ask for! He is attentive and charismatic; our stays would not have been the same without him! We cannot wait to come back. Truly the best experience. Thank you, Parkhotel Beau-Site!
