The customer service we received at this hotel was outstanding. It is excellent value, as whilst Zermatt is expensive, this hotel is worth every penny.
The reception staff were extremely helpful and professional, and assisted us without hesitation arranging activities, providing advice about the area, and were very friendly and polite. The breakfast was good, and the room very nice, clean and spacious. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, and the balcony (with a view of the Matterhorn) wonderful. Although mid-summer, it was still quite cold, and the spa and sauna were great after a day of hiking. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Zermatt.

We had a wonderful stay in this hotel. breakfast was always varied with plenty of choice. Hot dishes were replaced and checked and the staff were courteous and accomodating. Our room had an excellent view of the Matterhorn with a balcony while away the sunset on. The key deposit box in the hotel was another good idea saved having to wait for the receptionist to locate it for you.

This Hotel is an absolute favorite. We only stayed two nights, but we will be back! The rooms were spacious and lovely with incredible views over the Matterhorn. The wellness centre section was stunning (great pool, gigantic spa, beautiful speciality showers). We were tired from hiking during the day, and spent a significant amount of time in the pool, spa and showers - gorgeous! The staff were polite and helpful. The walk into town was relatively short and pleasant. The Hotel picked us up from the Train Station promptly (no charge) and dropped us back at the end of our stay.

It was very romantic and just pure bliss if you like lovely rooms and a beautiful and free wellness centre. We felt thoroughly spoilt!

We cannot fault this Hotel. To top it all off, it was great value for money too.

PS. Make sure you stay at least two nights - one night would not be quite enough..

We booked a ski vacation in Zermatt for late February to early March and chose the Rex Hotel because they could accommodate our party of 3 in one room and because they were nicely situated half way between the Gornergratt and Schwarzsee Lifts. During and after our stay, we were quite pleased with our choice.

The Rex Hotel looks traditional on the exterior and new and clean on the interior. Everywhere we looked there were nice little upscale touches. Our junior suite room was spacious [by European standards]. The bathroom was shinny and clean. Bathroom fixtures looked new. The beds were comfortable and the bedding was plush. There was plenty of closet and dresser space, a large flat screen TV, and plenty of electrical outlets.

We noticed many plusses. The Hotel has a comfortable lobby area with wireless internet and a wood burning fireplace. The hotel has a small bar and will serve guests until late in the evening. The hotel has a ski room with heated boot dryers. The hotel has a wellness area with sauna, Jacuzzi, swimming pool, and steam room. There were a few minuses too. For instance, the wellness area was a bit overrun with loud young children. And Internet was available just in the lobby.

Accommodations at the Rex Hotel include breakfast. The menu selection was acceptable. Throughout our travels we’ve certainly had much less. And we’ve also enjoyed better. The food was fresh and the wait staff was attentive.

The hotel staff had no problem with English. Of course however English is not their first language, so they are not prone to starting conversations nor making eye contact. But whenever we asked for help, they seemed genuinely delighted to be of service.

the breakfast was good ,room clean and spacious , the location is ideal just a stone throw away from the hustle and bustle of the main street in a quiet lane . the swimming pool and jacuzzi was asthetically designed , on the whole it was a pleasure staying there.
