“superb room and location”
Reviewed November 24, 2013

the rooms are cosy, of course you are in the town center, so the rooms are a bit small but it is well done, you would love to have a carpenter like that for your chalet, the restaurant is a good example of that mixture of all woods and renovated premises
it is not a business hotel but we worked well in a restaurant room.
the bar on the 1st flor is a nice retreat and the location cant be better it is in the center

Room Tip: ask for a view towards the Cervin if you are lucky with the weather ...

The room is quite small (even it wasn't a basic room) but cosy and warm, Nice alpin decor. Our room was facing the main street and it was a bit noisy at night,as there is a night club near by and we can hear the noise. So if you have troubles to sleep better ask for the room facing the other side. Very friendly personnel and good concierge. We really enjoyed the central location, very convenient as there many restaurants and bars around and it is not far from the ski bus. Breakfast at the hotel is good except the bread and pastry which was fresh only on the first day and all the other days they did not change the pastry and bread..not like I need to eat cakes in the morning, but still fresh bread is a must for such a hotel I guess.. Hotel has a small jacuzzi and wellness area, which were relaxing and good. We tried the massage, which was really great!!! I've stayed in many different hotels in Zermatt and hotel Post is by far my fav. We also eat in few of the hotels restaurant and the food was pretty good. The cow pub is very lively and cool for après ski. Oh very annoying thing - internet connection in room is very poor. Every morning on the way to a ski room we had to pass by the night club area which still wasn't cleaned after the party and smells very bed! Tho Zermatt is amazing, after a day of skiing you forget about those small things :) I recommend hotel Post for their more modern and cosy rooms and a good convenient location!

Very stylish and cosy Design-Hotel in the very center of Zermatt. 5 min walk from the Station, but they have a taxi shuttle if you have a lot of luggage and Skis, etc.

There is a small Spa with Sauna an Massage options in the basement.

The reception was very friendly.

Rooms are in very different shapes with lots of wood, combined with stylish design and luxurious bath rooms. We had a nice balcony towards the back (no view of Matterhorn), and the next house is very close. The rooms to the street might get a bit noisy with party people on busy evenings, ours to the back was ok.

There is free Wifi in the rooms.

Breakfast buffet is not overloaded, but it was good for us. There is an Italian Restaurant in the building, which we can recommend too (nothing exceptional, but food was ok and nice atmosphere like the rest of the hotel).

Would love to come back again in winter, very cosy hotel!

This Hotel is set in the picture postcard town of Zermatt, which is stunningly beautiful. The backdrop is the Matterhorn and we were lucky to get a room looking on at this most incredible sight. We visited in autumn, which in between the skiing and walking seasons, so it was very peaceful and quiet. The hotel itself is lovely and rustic and very comfortable. It is suitable for couple, families and friends. The staff friendly and helpful. We were there for just the one night, and we didn't eat there. We can't wait to return for longer

We really love this hotel, such great service, beautiful views, very comfortable rooms, luxury baths, super staff & fantastic breakfast. Sadly the location is so very noisy at night till about 3-4 am makes it impossible to sleep in the summer with windows open (no air conditioning) perhaps a room on the back of hotel with no view would be quieter. This was our second visit to property & not sure we will be back, too bad because the property really is great!

stayed here for a weekend. only good things to say! from my reservation, the staff like Coco was extremely helpful with my reservation. she made sure I got the room I wanted with a view of the matterhorn. I got a loft suite and it was perfect. even romantically laid out with roses on the bed was a big surprise and was perfect. room excellent with a big bathroom, living room, fireplace, balcony, and big bed upstairs. had a drink in their bar downstairs and staff there was friendly and talkative too. will definitely come back here again. Thanks Unique!!!

It was really terrible experiences over the past travel experiences!
While I check-in. It was found several duplicated records in various agency . However they didn't tell me all about that and let me handle in advance . Finally I were charged for 2 rooms for a solo travel!
It is a very bad and poor business running way! Not trustful and helpful
I never introduce this to others and will continuously to trace the case

Dear Miss Leung

First of all we wanted to thank you for taking the time of leaving a feedback.
We would like to apologize that your stay at the Unique Hotel Post didn’t meet your expectations.

Let us take the opportunity to clarify the incident from our point of view:

We normally don’t inform a guest with 2 bookings that he's made 2 bookings for the same period of time.
It is common nowadays that some guests make 2 bookings under the same name, for the same date but through 2 different booking channels.

This is especially the case in the summer and in the fall, when mostly International guests come for one or two nights only.

In your case, our Front Desk agent immediately asked you where the 2nd person was upon check-in as she had the 2 rooms under your name.
You replied that there was no 2nd person. Hereupon the agent pointed out that you actually had 2 different bookings made through 2 different booking engines.
At that time you just weren’t willing to discuss the issue and you left for a walk around town.
As you came back the agent tried again referring to the 2nd booking, but you didn’t want to accept the fact that you really had 2 bookings.

However, only upon check-out by double checking on the telephone with the internet booking engines you finally came to the conclusion yourself, that you had one booking with Expedia and the other one with Booking.com.

You mentioned that you only got 1 room key. Our policy is that single rooms only get 1 room key: It is one key card per person.Upon request you may receive more than one of course.

The room key for the 2nd room was with the agent at the desk as we tried to re-sell the room.
The room was available to book on all internet channels and of course directly at the hotel, too.
Had we have been able to resell and reassign your 2nd room, you wouldn’t have been charged.
It is our fair and honest policy that in case of a resale you wouldn’t get charged. Unfortunately in your case we were not able to sell the 2nd room.

On one hand we completely understand that it is irritating to pay for two rooms as you only wanted to book one.
On the other hand it is impossible for a hotel to check on the accuracy of the guest’s bookings and it is certainly not its responsibility.

Nevertheless we tried our best to sell the 2nd room, which is quite difficult on the day itself in Zermatt as we are in a resort.

Furthermore, we would also like to remind you that we gave you a free upgrade from a single room into a double room. Plus you received a 20% reduction on the 2nd room upon check-out.

Best regards
