Had a memorable ski trip to Zermatt and stayed at Hotel Pollux with my family. Clean room, good size, hotel well situated on Main Street and close to Gornergrat train and bus stop to other Mountain starting points. Great breakfast, cosy Bar, excellent service at front desk and at breakfast. Special shoutout to the Owner who helped us on our last day when the Train our of Zermatt was not running. Highly recommend Hotel Pollux and would stay there again.

Not the cheapest hotel (a bit upscale) but centrally located on main street, and close to everything (restaurants, ski rentals, gift shoppes, and the buses to the lifts). Breakfasts included in rates.

A very nice lobby with a cozy bar/fireplace for late night drinks. They also have a couple restaurants in the place.

In the basement you'll find the ski room (with handy boot dryers), and a spa (which is not perfect but nice to have).

The rooms are large, clean, and comfortable. We had beds for 4ppl, and 2 bathrooms. Plenty large for us.

If you have a choice, opt for a room on the Matterhorn side (not the street side) as you'll hear all the street activity when you're trying to sleep otherwise. Also, the rooms can get warm, with not an easy mechanism to cool the room down, but the windows can be opened, but the street noise may be too much.

Room keys are fastened to a brass plumb bob, so you don't take it with you. They use the honor system and you just leave it hung to the rack at reception when you depart for the day.

Daily, on the 1st floor, they offer tea and cakes in the meeting room from like 1pm-4pm. Nice touch. The room also has TVs, couches, and an old Xbox.

Breakfasts are excellent, also on the 1st floor. Large buffet-style selections, but you can also order from the kitchen, all at no additional charge.

Hotel Pollux is a 4-6 minute walk from the train station, which is typically the only way into Zermatt - easy to roll your luggage from there to the hotel - don't bother with a shuttle or taxi.

Very nice hotel, and very friendly front desk staff, kitchen staff, etc. I would stay here again!

I stayed here for 7 nights whilst skiing with my husband and 2 teenagers in a family room which suited us well as had 2 bathrooms and plenty of space. The hotel is clean and friendly and is in a great central location walking distance to the train to Geneva and the train up the slopes. It has a fabulous breakfast with lots of choice and a great, cosy bar for aprés ski. We ate at the front restaurant and had the best schnitzel and rosti and local pasta dish. Highly recommend hotel and restaurant.
