had to ski while we were there even though it's not the best conditions. you must arrive early in the morning and be off the slopes around noon when the clouds drift in.

“What a magnificent site !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

This falls are the world's largest only glacier waterfalls and are accessible underground by lift , galleries , tunnels , paths and platform. This is a must visit either on your journey to Mt Jungfrau or on return.

“Consider Spring Skiing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2013

We have been to Zermatt many times in the winter for excellent skiing. We had never tried spring skiing there. One of my children was studying in Europe and had several days off so we decided to try Zermatt. We traveled in mid-April. Imagine our surprise when we found some days of bright sunshine and two other days of more than 20 cm of snow!

Zermatt is uncrowded in mid-April. The restaurants on the mountains are easy to book for lunch and there is no waiting. The sun is bright so bring lots of sunscreen. At night, all the restaurants in Zermatt are easy to reserve as well. Most of the hotels lower their rates 25-50%.

We relied heavily on the interactive ski map for Zermatt which shows which runs and lifts are open. You can find it at http://www.zermatt.ch/en/page.cfm/lifts_and_pistes/open_lifts It is a must if you are skiing in the spring because conditions can change quickly.

“Zermatt - too expences !”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

I've been in Zermatt. Amazing views of Materhorn Mountain. BUT...Zermatt..the most expences city ever seen. The ski pass aprox 80 euro for a day ! A bottle of wather 8 euro. Greate location, but the prices are "in the air". With half of what I spent...7 days in Austria. I'll never go in Zermatt for sking!

“Do not buy multiple day passses! No reimbursement even if closed!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013

Skiing on the Matterhorn Glacier is a unique experience . . . given that the weather collaborates. Skiing in early May can be iffy due to bad weather (we got lucky one out of three days). I would not suggest that you buy a multiple day pass as they will not reimburse you if they have to close for bad weather: The site was closed at 10h am when we got there on our second day. No reimbursement, tough luck, bad weather is not their problem! Having filed a complaint with management, the answer was that the site had re-opened later in the afternoon so we just had to wait there until 2 pm!. Quite unacceptable by our standards. Unbelievable in fact! $120 down the drain!
