Situated in a great location, Sunstar Hotel is a 5 minute walk to Sunnegga lift with skis and a 1 minute walk to the bus stop to Matterhorn lift station. The hotel boasts a large pool and wellness area for a small hotel. Very friendly and attentive staff look after you in the charming Swiss dining room with great quality food. An added bonus is staring up at your bedroom ceiling which turns into the constellation when the lights go out!

Hotel location kind off bothers me when I made a reservation, but after weighing the reviews and price offer, I decicided to go for it. So its kind of a relief when I realise the hotel provide a free electric car shuttle to and from the train station, but be sure to give ample notice to the reception.
Staff is warm and attentive. Room rating will really depends on what kind of traveller you are. For us, a couple on our anniversary trip, its kind of romantic with the bathtub within the room itself. For practical reasons, it might not work for friends or family....unless u don't mind your kid splashing water in the room or your dad in the bathtub in front of you while you watching the t.v. Yup, the t.v is mounted by the celing in between the bed and bathtub. However there's option of choosing rooms without the bathtub, so consider carefully before booking. Overall the hotel works perfectly for us.

A fairly nice hotel with a location that is a bit off. Excellent breakfast and staff. Why only a poor rating? The rooms. Awful. You open the door to your bedroom and the door almost hits the bathtub that are in there (what was the architect thinking?!). Then you take two steps to the right and there are your two beds with tiny duvets. And please beware of the low hanging TV which is also in the middle of the room. The whole set up is very awkward, tiny and cramped, so NOT the swiss alps but more of a cheap city vacation. But cheap it is not, it is overpriced even by Zermatt standards. And finally: everything in the room gets damp when there is two of you trying to shower. Annoying at best.

Room Tip: If you do not like a bath in the middle of it all - do not go here.

The SunStar was a good location for skiing and visiting downtown Zermatt. The staff are outstanding and really helpful. The rooms are very tiny and many lack showers but overall a good hotel. Great breakfast buffet.

Room Tip: Ask for a shower if you want one. Otherwise you get a bathtub in the middle of the bedroom.

I booked for the second year the hotel Sunstar Style as I find the price-offer balance very fair and the team at the hotel is highly motivated to make your stay a pleasure.
The hotel is well situated next to the bus stop - a great advantage for a skier and my son and I enjoyed the very rich breakfast buffet as well as the very rich dinner settings.
Thank you for making the ski holiday a success.

Room Tip: the bathtub in the room is maybe a disadvantage if you do not like to be watched while washing ;-)

Going away for the year end in Zermatt, we found what was left. The hotel is friendly, the staff nice, but the decor is outdated at best. The price was quite high for the level. The pool is nice, but it was a shame that they could not get their steam room to work for their busiest days of the year !! We asked for a big bed and got two attached beds: disapointing !
But the magic of Zermatt is still there !!! what a village !!!

My visit to Zermatt was beginning of January 2013 without planning in advance. I was looking for a hotel for two nights near the river and close to Sunnagana Paradise Skiing Centre and the price was concern for me. Sunstar Style - Zermatt was the best choice available and it does not let me down.

The hotel is in good location, country style accommodation of forty rooms with reachable/accessible facilities within the premises. The reception, waiting and dining areas are specious with nice natural lights. The access in and out the hotel and the facilities are easy and comfortable.

All the assistants are cooperative. The staff of the hotel creates the homely atmosphere and provides feeling for the guests as they are at home.

All the rooms are with balcony facing the Alps Mountains and some of them facing the River. My room was single room no. 104, it was compact, good and clean and I enjoyed my stay. The only abnormal thing in the hotel room was that the shower area and wash basin, which are not part of the bathroom and they are in the room, exposed with no privacy.

Room Tip: All the rooms are with balcony facing the Alps Mountains and some of them facing the River
