Centrally located, 10 minute walk to train station. Super clean and functional. Quiet street. Super helpful staff and especially Jessica who helped us get reservations at various hiking huts to which we were going to trek. The staff is really helpful!
Very good breakfast (cheeses, breads, meats, eggs, etc) which are all needed to head out for a day of trekking. I felt that the bags we left behind while we were trekking were treated well and were securely stored.

Only one thing for improvement, which is to have wireless internet beyond the lobby and into all the rooms. Kind of a pain to have to go down to the lobby to use the net.

Room Tip: We had two rooms, one with a patio and one without at different times. Did not make a difference to...

Very nice hotel in Zermatt. Location is great - it's a bit away from the (very) crowded area of downtown Zermatt, though an easy <5 minute walk from there (easy to get to any restaurant and the train station). The hotel itself is very nice hardwood and stone. Most rooms have balconies (many of which overlook the Matterhorn), those that don't have balconies have large rounded corner windows with lots of glass. The room itself was average sized (not too cramped as others in Europe can be), and the bathrooms were quite large. It seemed fairly new. Definitely one of the nicest, if not the nicest, of the six hotels we stayed in Switzerland. The hotel breakfast was the best of any of the hotel breakfasts we had in Switzerland.

I traveled across Europe and the Phoenix was the best stay of all the hotels for quality and value. They were courteous and the rooms were very comfortable.

Walking distance from the train station and all the sights around the area.

Don't wait...book it here.

The hotel is 15 mins by foot from the train station and 20 mins to the main walking street. The hotel lobby is very welcoming as well as staff friendliness. We got a room on ground floor with a terrace and backyard view. Cannot see the Matterhorn from the room. There are rooms in underground , Make sure you request for room above underground so you will get window and freshair. The room interior is very plesant with wood decor. There is wifi only in the lobby area. Breakfast is normal european style.

Very nice and welcomed hotel in Zermatt. Everything is so in order and neat. Initiall feel very difficult to locate the hotel but we got direction from the Zermatt tourist centre right after we dropped off the Matterhorn express train. It's a 10 minutes from the station and there is uphill so may consider to take the electric taxi, but my and my husband did it with a walk from station. It doesnt take us a big effort because we have light luggages.

Thums up:
1. Reception is welcomed and the staff serves nice pop corn while we are surfing at the lobby
2. Room is big, very clean and comfortable. We have a nice Mattherhorn view from the room. Great!!! The surrounding is great view
3. Breakfast area is clean and food is all in order but they dont replenish if you are late
4. Very nice lobby and waiting area

Cons:
1. No Wifi at room
2. Chargeable on home electric taxi

Room Tip: Mention in your booking that you need a Matterhorn view

This is a very nice smaller hotel, quiet, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff with an excellent breakfast. We had the room we requested, top floor with balcony and view of Matterhorn. There is a comfortable bar/lounge which was relaxing on a wet day. Our room overlooked a large open field which was nice as it gave a more rural feel.

Room Tip: We had a superior double room
