Pros: great location, clean, large kitchen and seating area, washer and dryer

Con: the person at the desk often wasn't there during posted hours

I ended up having an 8 person dorm to myself (actually I'm not sure if there was anyone else on the floor). I was hoping for a more social environment since I was traveling alone but I suppose being the off season (and Switzerland isn't really set up for the budget traveler) that wasn't the hostel's fault. All the other guests I did speak with were quite pleasant.

Budget luxury!
Spent a night in Hotel Bahnhof a year after my 1st visit to the hotel. The room was once again very clean. Big shower with lots of space and hot water. Clean towels and bedding. I can go on and on, but bottom line is VISIT them and you will nor regret it! Such a treat after the normal Youth Hostels for very little extra. The view from the rooms is to die for. Matterhorn!

Good location, very clean!
I stayed here overnight in the dormitory with several friends. We checked in early in the day, and kept our stuff in ski lockers available downstairs. There is a full size kitchen, and an area with couches and many benches for eating. There was plenty of room in the fridge also if you wanted to store some food or drinks.
We went for a full day hiking, and come back after dinner around 9 pm to hang out for awhile. By 9 pm, the lights were out in the dorm and everybody was sleeping. We proceeded to hang out on the couches downstairs and shower instead of disrupting the others.
When we decided to go back upstairs and go to bed, it was a little difficult to find an open bed, since they were bunk beds pushed together, to make a makeshift double bed on top and bottom. It was a little awkward, but we managed to find room in the dark.
The whole place felt very clean the whole time, and it was located very close to the train station (bahnhof means train station) and a Coop.
I would recommend this place to others.

Handy; loved it!
Right across from the Zermatt train station, this hotel was my kind of place. It is spotlessly clean, even the kitchen, with gorgeous design details. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The office is closed from about noon to 4:30 PM, but there is a phone on the desk, and they can be called. I would definitely stay here again, if I go back to Zermatt!

Nice Hotel, good location and reasonably priced
We were relieved the hotel was so close to the train station, as it was pouring rain when we arrived. There were 6 of us; 2 in a double room and 4 in a quad, both rooms had private baths. The rooms & hotel were spotless and attractively maintainted. The hotel doesn't provide any meals or have a restaurant, but it has a wonderfully equipped kitchen and lounge for guests use. In a town where everything is extremely expensive, being able to eat in and store food in the fridge was fantastic.

Avoid Room 2
OK - I thought it would not be so bad to have to share a bathroom for 1 nite, right? WRONG!!! Especially, if you have the room directly NEXT to the toilet. My God, I might as well have been staying in the toilet. I could hear EVERYTHING, and it was amplified because of the echo. The all night parade of people trekking to the bathroom was practically unbearable. And I mean ALL night, the worse being around 3 am when people are getting back from the bars. There is no front desk staff past 8 pm, so you are stuck!!!! As I left my room in the morning to catch the train, a guy was coming out of the toilet in his underwear. Defintely not for me. The room was decorated nicely, and the location is great. No clocks or TVs in rooms though. The staff was kind enough to let me borrow an I-Pad so that I could email home
