Why did we only book one night in Zermatt?? I couldn't be happier with our stay in the Breithorn Suite this past week. We were traveling with our kids, 10 and 13, and finding adequate rooms in Europe is not easy. This hotel fit the bill 110%! The suite faces the Matterhorn with two balconies. It was just absolutely amazing to sit and stare at such an amazing site from our room.
Upon arrival to the train station, we called the hotel to get picked up in one of the great electric cars that zip around Zermatt. Once we checked in, we were offered a complementary glass of wine before being shown to our room. Nice touch that doesn't happen in many hotels these days. We chose to sit out by the pool and enjoy the view.
Our room- Wow! It was perfect in every way. The decor was funky mountain cool, but comfortable. We had a living room with couch and 4 person table. The kids had a little hidden room with twin beds and a skylight to view the stars. Our bedroom was very cozy and comfortable as well. We appreciated that there were kid sized bathrobes and enough bathroom amenities for the 4 of us.
Breakfast was delicious! Full of cheese, meats, pastries, fruits, yogurts and more. The staff were very kind it making me two iced lattes even though they hadn't been asked to before. They were some of the best I've ever had by the way. The breakfast area along with the rest of the hotel was very creatively decorated. They used a local artist to furnish the hotel and it was fun to look at the different pieces used through out the hotel.
The staff couldn't have been nicer and truly seemed to be concerned with making sure we were satisfied with every aspect of our stay. We will be back very soon, but next time it will be for much longer.More
