We took this trip by car going up the hills by many zigzag roads. Stopping at some spots we had some wonderful photos. lakes are everywhere and the greeny nature is just magnificent. Some people were hiking and some were biking, the last activity I find very hard considiring the angle of the roads climbing the mountains. If you had this trip don't miss the glacier at its top, it is worth the 5 CHF fees. you will be able to walk in a tunnel of ice. It is said that the ice have been here for thousands of years. We had agreat launch at one restaurant on the mountains with a spectacular view, I don't remember the name, however most of the restaurants had this view.
VIP Tip: try to choose a sunny day.

Best and most spectacular pass I have driven in my life! Treat yourself and do it. Not for somebody with a fear of heights. (Passengers will sit next to the exposed areas)

This was by far the most beautiful drive ever. Great scenery, cute villages to stop in for a coffee or a bite and amazing places to park safely and enjoy breathtaking views of the Alps. A must do if you are in the area! Be very very careful when driving; the view can be very distracting at times! Definitely worth your time, trust me! Happy and safe trails!

The Furka Pass forms part of the 3 passes route along with the Grimsel and Susten passes. On a clear, sunny August day I could have spent forever driving the hairpin festooned mountain roads. Absolutely breathtaking views around every corner (there are LOTS of corners!) I was in the region for 4 days and 3 of those were spent on the 3 passes route. Some of the best scenery you will see anywhere in the world. If you love driving/motorcycling and are keen on photography then you will be in heaven here.
Admitedly this is a weather dependant attraction, but on anything resembling a nice day this is one of those 'things to do before you die'. I really can't recommend it highly enough!

After 47 years in waiting (GOLDFINGER U.A. Released 11/1964) today was the day I finally got to see, drive & explore the Furka Pass. For GOLDFINGER nuts this is the ultimate. It only to me about 10 minutes out of Realp to find the spot where Bond was jumped w/ Tilly's off target bullit.
The best was climbing up the hill and finding the same rock where she took aim (one has to navigate about 40 yards at a very steep angle and duck under an electric cow fence to get there but the 'TRUE ANGLE' of Guy Hamiltons story board directed shot is worth it times 50).
Now Bond aside, the previous reviews nailed it except for one thing: One can do it @ speed if same knows what he's doing & has the proper ride.
