I've spent one night at the Residence of Villa Principe Leopoldo Hotel & SPA. The hotel is situated above the city and looks more like a resort hotel than a city one. I think it's a very nice choice for a weekend stay or holidays.
The hotel provides a free shuttle from the hotel to city center and back, there is a timetable, the guests of the hotel just have to be in time for it at the noted place. The driver picked me up in the evening as there were no other passengers, and took me to the hotel - less than 10 minutes I suppose. In case of delay the clients can contact the hotel as well and they will be picked up as well.
The staff is helpful and very pleasant, I asked to arrange a taxi - everything was just fine! As I had to leave early in the morning I had to go for breakfast at 7 a.m. I was the first one in the Cafe Leopoldo - the restaurant of the Residence. Everything was ready apart maybe for some hot dishes. I liked the prompt service very much as I had no time to waste in order to catch my train.
I had a renovated room in the Residence - in very light colours, with a living area and a balcony. On the day of arrival there was some mineral water and fresh fruit - a nice welcome for the guests! The room was rather spacious for a standard category, and everything was just fine. The room had a garden view, and a bit of the lake could be seen in the distance. As well there are rooms on the ground floor which have kind of green terraces - ideal for families with kids.
The bathroom was provided with all necessary small things so important for a traveler.
As for me I liked the best the pure nature all around the hotel - I had a feeling of staying somewhere very far from any city, any noise or disturbance. What I liked least? I think it was the weather and that not all the beauty of park was exposed! But the hotel was just fine. And maybe if one looks for some night life or shopping only a few steps away - this is not it. I strongly recommend!
