Enjoy a great dinner at this lovely Italian place during my vacation in St. Moritz. The restaurant is in STM Bad, next to Hotel Laudinella.

This place is down to earth, totally authentic (we were likely the only non Italians dining there) and nicely set.

Owner Roberto is a patron that personally greats the guest and is always visible.

Food was outstanding - best Italian I had in a long time. My Ossobuccco came with homemade pasta and was delicious. They have a number of specials. Wine list is also great.

The total for two with half liter if wine and coffee was CHF 140. A steal in otherwise expensive StM. Enjoy!

Delicious food in a great atmosphere. I loved how there were wall tattoos of famous quotes from Goethe and Winston Churchill--albeit translated into German, of course--with my favorite being, "Life is too short to drink bad wine."

I had a lovely glass of champagne and Nero d'Avola. The bread basket had a variety of fun crisps to eat. My green salad starter was simply a bed of lettuce--but made amazing by the delicious dressing they put on top.

I also tasted my friends' tuna carpaccio and tomato mozzarella salad--both of which were nice--but the truffle pasta really took the cake. So rich and creamy with a heavy scent of truffles, just one bite was sooo decadent.

My dinner selection was a 200g steak with sauteed mushrooms. I was expecting little button mushrooms à la grilled mushrooms in the U.S., but instead these were HUGE, thick slices of mushrooms that covered the entire top of my steak. Totally took me by surprise, but it was a perfect complement to the meat. Ordered medium, it seemed a bit rarer than what I'm used to, but the steak was totally tender and delicious.

I don't know what my friend ordered, but I tried his thin slices of semi-rare beef, and it was also very good.

One of my friends ordered tiramisu for dessert, and it came with a very light, airy cream, almost like whipped foam on a cappuccino. Quite tasty, but I think I actually prefer the heavier mascarpone filling.

My dessert of choice was of course something I've never tried before--a warm dish of cooked plums with pink pepper and mint ice cream, topped with a spun sugar nest. A bit tart yet also sweet, it was a delectable finish to a fantastic dinner.
