We took the Bernina Express day trip to St Moritz from Milan. The tour guide recommended Hanselmann as the oldest cafe in St Moritz with an excellent view. As it turned out, the one with the view was under renovation so we ended up at a more casual looking branch somewhere closer to the center. We ordered at the counter and the waitress brought our cappuccinos and cakes, all served on real plates and cups and silverware on a table with white tablecloth. The cakes were absolutely delicious. My husband couldn't forget the chocolate cake to date! The Cappuccinos were good enough and came with a little piece of chocolate, although we saw the hot chocolate ordered by our neighbors and wished we had ordered one too as it looked amazing in a tall glass with what looked like whip cream piled on top. Yes, it's expensive (about US$25 for our orders) but we figured we're paying for the real estate and the experience. Too bad we didn't have time to linger. btw, be aware that they'll take Euros for payment but will make change in Swiss francs. They will only let you charge if the order is over 20 Swiss francs so plan accordingly.
