“Friendly, Very Clean, Grt location on a budget”

We arrived for a wedding in May. The managers a German & an Italian lady were lovely and welcoming. We stayed in an Egyptian style room, that was spacious with black-out blinds, clean and quiet. The Italian lady helped book me a hair appointment and even lent me an umbrella incase it rained. The breakfast was yummy and not too tourist filled, so it felt like we had the place to ourselves. We would diff.go back as the location in the spring was ideal. It is great value for money with very nice helpful staff!

Room Tip: EGYPTIAN ROOM (1st floor, very quiet)

I stayed in the Africa room and I loved the decor in the room! The massage and wellness shower was also very pleasant. The hotel staff were very welcoming and friendly. The staff provided me with helpful travel information and directions to the train station. The hotel can be hard to access from the train station as you need to walk upslope - quite tiring especially with bulky and heavy luggage. But its location is good and convenient once you know the way and are not carrying luggage. The breakfast was simple but sufficient. The pizza at the pizzeria during dinner was excellent! Wifi connection was good - you can use unlimited devices in the room even though it was advertised that wifi was only available in public areas. Overall a good stay, but would have been more ideal if there was a lamp on the desk in the room as it can be a bit dark at night.

If you are budget conscious, then this is a fabulous hotel. Our room and bathroom were super clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and so helpful in providing us with information on how to see the sights for our short stay. The restaurant downstairs is also excellent food at reasonable prices. I highly recommend this hotel.

When you pull up to the hotel and see the sign on and the entrance, you may question your decision, but once you are inside and meet Susan you realize why you chose this hotel. The rooms are beautiful and very well decorated. The bathroom was the nicest in our 2 weeks trip in Europe.
Great location!!!! We highly recommend.

Stopped at the Arte in June 2014. We where made very welcome by the Manager Susan who gave us all the information we needed. The room we had had quality fittings and was individually decorated. The bed was superb. After a problem with our vehicle we were allowed the use of the room until late afternoon. I cannot praise the attention we relieved or the quality of the hotel. Many thanks

Room Tip: Any they are all individual

St. Moritz being an expensive town and with the budget we had, no other hotels apart from one in Silvaplana and Hotel Arte were available :-) With not much choice left, we decided to focus on these two. Having read great reviews about this hotel we booked Arte and were so pleased we did!

If you’re arriving into St.Moritz by train do not attempt to walk to the hotel. There’s a lift that takes you right up to the street level (Via Serlas) from near the train station but even from there it’s quite a hike. We took a cab and it took us good 4-5 mins and some odd 17€. Not that this is cheap but with all that luggage, it’s an effort to drag uphill.

The facade looks smaller than the hotel actually is. When we reached there, Susan the hotel manager had left a note that she was out for some work with her phone number. We called her and she quickly returned. The hotel does not have a reception desk but there’s a small office that Susie uses. We were checked-in right away. Susan’s chirpy and very friendly. We immediately got along with her.

I like light colors in rooms so had made a special request to give us one. Susie showed us 2 rooms to choose from. We liked the Japanese themed room and took that. It was great. Not sure if it was authentic bamboo but it looked real. There were low stools and a table, full length wooden windows, huge paper lampshades and a straw carpet all over. Very Japanese! View from the room was also very nice. Corviglia cable car can be easily seen. The only minus was lack of a fridge. It didn't affect us though, as Susie agreed to store our stuff in the refrigerator of the pizzeria (on the ground floor).

The hotel was spotless. Carpets were clean, it smelled nice and the stairwell was nicely decorated with potted plants. Once you step out of the property there are two ways to get to the main street. You could take a staircase or the road. There’s a Coop just 3 minutes’ walk from the hotel. Check the closing times when you go there. On Saturday it closes at 5pm and entirely closed on Sunday.

The pizzeria (a tiny one) ended up being our go to place the two nights we stayed at the hotel. There were good delicious vegetarian pizza and pasta options. On Sunday the place was buzzing. Loved the energy, given its size. Breakfast is also served here every morning which was a good mix of breads, cheeses, cereals and other non-vegetarian items.

I am a tea addict and even though breakfast hadn't been served Susie was so kind to send over tea to the room on both days. My husband used to bring it for me and he told me every time how helpful, patient and polite she was. Again, the day we were leaving she served us breakfast before serving time making sure we didn't go hungry and also booked the cab for us to go to the train station.

We had a wonderful time at Hotel Arte. If you are on a budget, this place is worth every penny. When we now take the Bernina Express we are surely staying here!

Great hotel very friendly helpful manager with good local knowledge. The outside of the hotel is a bit shabby but don't be put off the rooms are big and clean with lovely bathrooms. The continental breakfast was good. I mentioned to the manager that I thought our room had a kettle and she bought me one up immediately with tea and coffee, nothing seemed too much trouble.
