“Beautiful city and good slopes for skiing; club med is not so good”
Reviewed June 9, 2013

the city saint moritz is very beautiful; the train from zurich to the city has beautiful views.
the ski station has good lifts and is excellent for skiing.
some days we have to walk with the boots from the hotel to the lift... it was bad, because walking in long distance with boot is not so good... they could gave us some transportation, that happened in other occasions to another place.
we have been to another club med many times, but this one was the worst.
the room is clean with good size and beautiful views.
the GO didn't tell us about the price of ski rental.... at the cheek out I had to pay aproximattely 3 times the price i used to pay in the others club med i have been... it was an unfriendly experience, ... for me it was a surprise, because i have ever given good news from all my ski vacation in club meds...
The instructors were so friendly and worried about given us the best.

Room Tip: My room was very good...with the city view ... in the 4 floor

We have been to this club med several times before but this time I found it particularly poor. There was a very long wait for check in. The rooms were ok. The shower cubicles had moulds on the ceiling. The G.O.s were with very low level of enthusiasm, probably because it was the last week of the season! The food was horrible most of the time except on a couple of days. The restaurant at Corviglia seriously lacked hygiene. The children were sick on one day and had to skip the skiing. Luckily, the skiing itself was excellent. The Swiss Ski School instructor was excellent and all of us made a great progress. One improvement was the better shuttle frequency to go to Signal bahn which saved the tedious walks on most of the days.

Room Tip: Do not bother shelling out extra money for the mountain view rooms. You will hardly spend any time i...

Rooms are clean and acceptable size with plenty of storage. We had a room on the top floor and did not experience any noise issues. Check in was relatively quick bearing in mind all the info we needed to be told. On our first evening there was not any room in the main restaurant so we were shown to the speciality restaurant, thank goodness - a much more relaxed experience, we chose to book this every night (book after 4.00pm in reception for the following day). The young man that shows you to your table each evening was very amiable. Always plenty of atmosphere in the lounge area in the evening. We did view a couple of the evening shows, which were a way to pass the evening, the staff all seemed to have to join in and worked very hard. Some of the reception staff are a bit abrupt.
The walk to the cablecar in the morning was rather tedious - appreciate cant provide buses for all ski groups but if transportation could be laid on to take the skis that would be a great help. This walk would make me think twice about booking to come here again.

We took the train from Zurich to St. Moritz. It was a very scenic ride. The resort is well managed with a good friendly crew of staff. The resort has no luxury feel to it, but the rooms are clean and the facilities are adequate. The Mini Club Med for the children are well run and my children enjoy the programmes and the ski instructor was initially harsh but they later replace her with another instructor who is excellent. The food is not outstanding but adequate and has a good variety. The resort is within a 20minutes walk from town and we took the bus in to visit the famous hotels. My only complaint is that coming from Asia, we are used to more service and here we have to carry our skis and walk for ten minutes to get to the gondolas , which I found , extremely exhausting and on the first day I fell and hit the back of my head as I did not have a helmut. The children do not have to carry their skis and they have a bus taking them to the gondolas. I would definitely go back if they can have a bus taking the adults to the gondolas too. The manager was very efficient and friendly and made our stay more pleasant when I could not find my shoes when I returned from the slopes.

Just returned from a week vacation at club med Roi soli. Chek in was quick, considering the large crowed that arrived at the same time. Rooms were nice and clean. Staff was helpful and Multilanguage. Food was mostly good. The bar area is a beat small and gets crowded in the afternoon and evenings. The spa consists of two small sauna's - wet and dry (the wet one was broken half of the week) and a small pool. The pool water was supposed to be heated to 28 Celsius but was cold throughout the week. Ski school depends on your guide - Our first guide was horrible, so we changed groups and the second guide was better. The days are relatively short – the day starts at around 9:15-9:30, the lunch break is about an hour and a half and the day ends at around 15:30. The main problem is that the location of the club. There is a 10-15 minutes' walk to the gondola, which is a beat hard with ski boots and skies. There was supposed to be a shuttle at the end of the day but we never found out how it worked. The two other ski areas are only reachable by bus. The club has restaurants on the mountain so you don't have to return to the club to eat. Food selection on the mountain restaurants is limited. The club is also far from the center of Saint Moritz (although there is nothing much to do there). Saint Moritz ski area is great.

Not enough options for activities or restaurants. The sauna/pool hours were very limiting. The dinner bell rang at 1900- and you had better be there.

Ski school was great and organized. Club Med- not so much. Check in was absolute chaos. Information provided was inconsistent. There was no information book in the room to figure out what you might of missed in the previous chaos. There was confusion about ski passes, we did not receive ours, were sent to ski lesson sign up, told the card they gave us was all we needed. We got to the mountain the next morning thinking we exchanged the card for the pass, or something along those lines... No. We should have received the ski pass the night before. We bought ski passess because the instructors were certain Club Med would reimburse us. We skiied that morning, returned to the hotel for lunch and spoke with staff about our ski pass.

The Club Med staff, Fredrica, was very rude to us. She would not get us a manager to speak with, just basically had no solutions for us. We obtained our Club Med ski passes from her and went to the closest lift ticket office, but they couldn't help us. So we drove up to the ticket office we purchased the passes from. The lift ticket office staff were very nice, reimbursed us and told us this happens often with Club Med patrons due to the "confusion". Since this seems to happen often, Fredrica (club med staff) should have been able to direct us to this solution. So we missed 1/2 day of skiing on the best weather day there.

Parking- we parked outside at 10 francs per day- that was fine overall, but still confusion at check in and check out.
The rooms were fine. Food was fine. But really only one restaurant, and if you wanted a group table you needed to get in line before they opened the doors. Mass lines for food, but if you waited 20 min you could move about more freely.

I went to a Club Med years ago, lots of activities and meal options and the food was incredible. We went to an Italian "all inclusive" resort about 13 yrs ago-- similar experience. This Club Med-- not so great.

The Ski School is a contract, I think it was Schweitzer Ski School, and you could book directly or through other hotels. The instructors were great. You may consider booking (lodging, ski lessons) through another hotel there. Saint Moritz really is a beautiful place.

It was our first ski holiday. So we decided to choose club med for their all inclusive service, with full board and ski lessons. Our booking was for a week, from Sunday to Sunday. We realised that was the arrangment for all the guests as well. The crowd at checking-in was overwhelming, but fortunately, the reception was pretty organized. We had to make a few stops to book our ski lessons, collect our ski passes, register the kids at mini club, rent our ski boots and equipments. But I have to say all these are pretty organized and we just need to be patient. Food was good, with some very impressive selections over the festive nights. Service at the specialty restaurant was short of expectation when they could not find our reservation one of the nights. Service at the bar was generally good except for one rude lady server. Ski lessons was well-organised for both the adults and the kids. We had lots of fun, especially the kids. It was a wonderful holiday for the family and we are looking forward to our next ski holiday with club med.

Room Tip: Request for a quiet room on the higher floors and further away from the night club if you are a ligh...
