Ok - so I'm on a trip taking in some great hotels, but this hotel rates itself highly and has joined the small luxury hotels of the world club. Well I didn't really think of it as luxury. No air conditioning, but as someone said you can open the window. Well I did and from 7am the building site next door started and then at 730 the church or townhall bells went off - why? It was like a call to work siren in the old factories!
The bathroom was very nice, but my room had two connecting doors. I usually hate this - but I don't think anyone was next door in either (it was real off season here).
Some nice things - the mini bar was free - can't say I've seen that much before - great idea and I didn't abuse it either - and the tv had a decent set of english (and german and french) channels. With satilite nowadays that surely can't be that hard for other hotels to do.
My bed was comfy but the pillow was useless - which was quickly resolved by a call downstairs and a new pillow arrived.
So - this wasn't a bad hotel - but it is not really a 5 star hotel either. I would make sure that I got a room without connecting doors - perhaps that is because I booked through expedia - unless you want them!
I guess if I had stayed more than one short noight I might have got to see a better side of it, but compared to some of the other hotels on this trip7 this only deserved an average rating.
