This is my favorite place in St Moritz, I could go there everyday. No other other place in St Moritz brings it all together like El Paradiso. The setting and views are stellar, the food is great, the staff friendly and it attracts the best crowd of people. Fantastic.

We were invited to celebrate a friend's wedding anniversary at EL PARADISO. Our group of 38 was seated outside on one huge and beautifully decorated table with an incredible view over the valley of St. Moritz. It was a sunny, warm day and we enjoyed a delicious lunch with excellent wines. The dessert buffet was awesome and I tasted probably the best home made chocolate I ever had. The service was top as well! The views from the terrace are just breathtaking. My wife and I will be back in winter to see the awesome scenery covered in snow.

We have been to El Paradiso with our family on Saturday August 16. We have read so many great reviews that we were so excited, and it was a superb sunny day. But we came back to to earth very quickly. The menu is nothing special, slightly better than a very normal mountain restaurant. The service is very poor, with completely unprofessional waiters. But the prices are very high ... chf 48 per person for a fondue (which we guess it is exactly the same you eat in a normal restaurant for chf 28), chf 48 for a signature burger .... the best burger in Zurich, which is not known to be a cheap place costs chf 35 .... We were at the Restaurant Adelboden in Steinen the day before (18 Gault Millau, 2 Michelin Stars) .... same level of price, but a huge, huge difference with El Paradiso. So El Paradiso, please come back to earth and change (improve menu and service), or your might need to change name ....

Dear Vittorio G

Thank you very much for your feedback concerning your stay/visitation on the 16th of August (Did you visit us on Friday or as you mentioned on Saturday > as the 16th of August was a Friday). We really take your criticism seriously, but - in order to understand our concept better and in order to inform you – we’d like to comment on certain points.

Our variety of our menu was criticized in your feedback, please pay attention to the fact, that – compared to winter (High Season) – the menu offers about 70% less in summer due to the low amount of guests in summer. Additionally, the exclusive Club Restaurant "La Ventana" is closed during summer.

Unfortunately you did not mention, why you declared our service staff as “completely unprofessional”. Personally, I can ensure that you have been the first guest for 15 years who criticized the service this way. Obviously you had made an experience which might have not corresponded to our standard or which can be attributed to a misunderstanding. Whatever might have caused your discontent, we think it is a great pity that you did not complain directly at el paradiso. Our service staff is specially trained according to the principles of our business and is often praised for its friendliness.

We cannot share your critical view concerning our price policy.
On the one hand it is not possible to compare a seasonal, weather-dependent restaurant in the mountains to an all-year running business in a city (costs of transport, mid-season, risks due to the weather etc.), on the other hand our 13-points Gault Millau business cannot be compared to an 18-points restaurant with 2 Michelin stars! That you did not mention – except of the criticized price level – anything about the quality of our dishes, but rated them with only two points, we perceive as being unfair and not justified.

Hopefully, we can convince you of our offers and services during your next visitation. With sunny regards from the mountain – close to heaven –
Hans-Jörg & Anja Zingg with the Team
