We used this hotel for a one night stop over after travelling on the Glacier Express. The hotel is a short walk and easy to find from the railway station. Reception staff are friendly and like most Swiss speak a variety of languages. Rooms, mostly with views over the town square are spacious, simply furnished but immaculate; bathrooms may be windowless but an effort has been made to give a feeling of space and light. Beds are wonderfully comfortable with feather light duvets. Trying to find somewhere to eat at a reasonable cost in this town is not easy but the hotel restaurant provides a good choice at a good price. Many locals were eating there. Breakfast is copious with a notable local muesli incorporating fresh fruit, served with yoghurt. Overall good value

Stayed at the Hauser last week for one night after we did the Glacier Express and before we going on the Bernina Express. It was ideally located just up the hill from the station. (If you have luggage would reccommend a taxi) It was central and close to everything, we arrived on a Saturday night so town very quiet and most shops closed. (which I am sure saved me many pennies).

The hotel was clean and bright, we even got an upgrade on the rooms which were large and immaculate. The bathrooms were huge, my parents even had a wet room shower which I was very jealous of.

They were at the front of the hotel overlooking the bar, as we were out of season it was very quiet not sure if this would be the same at the hight of the season.

We ate in the restaurant which was very nice, quite expensive but think that was down to the bad exchange rate not the hotel. Breakfast was nice, no hot food in the buffet through.

Loved the attached Chocolate shop could have lived in there quite happily.

All the staff were very helpful, and pleasant and would stay again if in the town.

Our Southeast USA group of 15 people enjoyed 7 wonderful nights at the Hauser and 8 beautiful days in the Engadin. The rooms were fine, the full morning breakfasts super plentiful and the dinner half-board meals excellent. Markus Hauser and his family run hotel made our group feel very welcome and was very accommodating; even if you forget your key and have to ring the doorbell at midnight to get let in. Markus offered to join two of us on a breakfast hike up to Piz Nair and made the 1,000 m climb to 3030m in 2 hours and 49 minutes and were back by 10.00a.m. for breakfast. Ask him if the Wednesday morning Markus Hauser, Breakfast hikes are still on!
