This place is fantastic for a large group or party. Everyone sits like in the baracks, on long tables and long benches, sharing tables if you're not enough to get a big table yourself. It's very loud, very messy and very very packed.
However the food is excellent, the atmosphere is very funny thus making the long barack room incredibly cosy.

This is not a place for a first date or even any date at all. I would suggest any groups less than 6 don't go there or you may find yourself getting overwhelmed by the larger groups next to you.

It is a restaurant located in the old barrack. It is definitely not a very elegant place but it is original and it has a nice atmosphere. There is no real menu. You normally what what is served that day but the food is really tasty. Sometimes there is live music.

This place is a gem! You must go here. We were told to go there by a friend who had previously visited. The location was pretty far from where we were staying (we stayed in the city center and La Baracca is down at the bottom of the mountain). It is a short cab ride but not walk-able. The smell of the food is amazing from the second you walk in the door. It casual and somewhat rustic so don't wear your cocktail dress. It gets pretty rowdy late night - its very fun. I would recommend for ALL ages.

On a side of a parking lot at the outskirts of St Moritz, this place offers a casual rustic ambience denying the all so present glamour of St Moritz. Yet the food is great and experimental, hearty and tasty portions make sure that no one goes hungry.
The only real negative is the service, they could really hire a few more waiters.

... it's an old wooden shack on a remote parking lot (signal parking) ... and what you see is definetly not what you get.

it's interior is both rustic and classy at the same time. every table, chair, piece of cuttlery or plate are collector items with a rich history ... and the atmosphere they create every evening is among the best in the valley.

yes - sometimes it's a bit crowded ... but i'd rather wait a couple minutes for a table and be assured that we are entertained by the colorful mix of guests and music .. than sit in a 'normal' restaurant with 'normal' people and bore myself to death.

food: I highly recommend the assado (with mashed potatoes), the steak (with country potatoes), the brassato. the house salad (super yummy) .. and not to forget the warm chocolate cake (with chillie)

so, if you stay in the valley, reserve a table around 9 (so you get to keep your table) ... and make sure you bring a friend or two ... you gonna love it and be entertained all night long.

if you wanna get up early .... go around 7 ... it's gonna be a quiet dinner ...

enjoy - maybe ill see you there ... yeah - in the winter - I'm dining at la baracca at least one a week. (-:
