“Truly Magical”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2014 via mobile

When we reached St Moritz during our 12 day vacation in Switzerland, we were disappointed to know that the Cable Cars to the tallest peak in that region Piz Bernina is closed. On the Front Office Staff's advice at Hotel Schweirhoff where we were staying we decided to take a train from St Moritz to Bernina Diavolezza and we did the same.
The Cable Car Station is just in front of the distance hardly a 1 minute walk.
An what an experience that was. The Cable Car ride was extremely smooth. And things turn magical as you reach the top at about 9800 feet. Amazing views of the Glacier and in summer also we came across a number of skiers.
They have a wonderful restaurant also as everywhere in Switzerland.
There are trains almost at regular intervals from St Moritz.

“A day at Diavolezza”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 1, 2014

Wonderful late season snow thanks to the altitude. Small field compared to its St. Moritz cousins. Good for a half day.

“Challenging”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 17, 2014

Yes Diavolezza has spectacular views and is a must see, but if you choose to ski the glacier from the top of the lift, be prepared for some challenging skiing. There is a narrow traverse from the top of the mountain to the glacier that is a little intimidating because of the steep drop off. Once at the top of the glacier, be prepared for a bumpy ride to the bottom. The glacier is steep and has several bumps or moguls. The skiing is challenging, but once you reach the bottom you will be happy with the view and town. Enjoy.

“A truly spectacular sight”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 24, 2014

Anyone vacationing in the Engadin, i.e. St. Moritz or crossing into Italia via the Bernina Pass should not miss the Diavolezza. It is one of the most spectacular views of the alps with several large glaciers and snow covered peaks. A comfortable cable car takes you to over 9,700 feet. And typically Swiss, there is an excellent restaurant with beautiful views of the mountains.

“Great scenery”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 19, 2014

A great day out with the family, but it needs to be on a sunny clear day. There is a BBQ area that is advertised as the "highest BBQ in Europe" The food and coal and be ordered through the restaurant the night before. (or take your own food and collect the coal from the restaurant)
Just be aware that the BBQ area is a 30 min walk +or- from the cable car (depending on age of children) Worth it just for the view and to BBQ on top of mountain. Otherwise the restaurant is a good place to have food and drinks.
