I have visited this Alpine Destination near St.Moritz & Pontresina on the way to the Bernina Mountain passage with family members in August 2012. We have enjoyed a breathtaking view, no disturbing clouds and a T-shirt feeling at 3000m a.s.l. Piz Bernina, Piz Morteratsch, Piz Palü just right in front - you can almost touch them. The Transport in gondola railway was very comfortable and not overcrowded. There are usually many European, Asian & a growing number of Arab guests visiting the peaks around the Engadin Valley. I can recommend everybody to visit this mountain peak. Whenever you are staying at least 2 nights and more in one of the Hotel joining Engadin Hotel & Tourism Board you will have access to FREE transport - unbelievable! Thank you for that brilliant idea! Without Transport pass it is costly but still worth visiting! The only Minus of our trip was the expensive and highly over charged visit at the restaurant located at the top of the peak! Advice: Take your own food along, sandwiches, salads, drinks or whatever you like. Better spend the money for quality food at reasonable prices when returning back to the Engadin valley.

We went the day before ski season opened. It was pretty empty but gorgeous, tons of snow, and the staff was eager to help customers. The Swiss have a hotel at the top of every Alp it seems! Diavolezza is no exception. We skipped the expensive sit-down service for the self-serve side. Both have the awesome view of the glacier. You can ski from the hotel door. The ride on the tram is worth it even if you can't go skiing or hiking.

One of many great mountains in this area of the Swiss/Italian Alps with several different trails to enjoy. It is well-maintained and the views from the top on a clear day are some of the best I've ever seen.

Definitely go there if you are in the area. There are a variety of hotels, including the Youth Hostel at St. Moritz that include a pass to all cable cars if you stay for 2 nights or more.

The most practical way to get there and around is by train. The train ride along the valley is awesome. Go all the way to Tirano in Italy at least once.

The restaurant at the top of Diavolezza is one of the best I have ever come across on a mountain top.

We stopped at Bernina Diavolezza and took the gondola up. It was a beautiful clear day and the various peaks up there and the glacier were dazzling to look at! Worth a stop!

If your hotel in St Moritz offers free transit passes for the area, there is no charge at all for the gondola.
