“Good choice for Davos”
Reviewed February 3, 2013

Very nice new hotel, with spacious rooms, nice bath, lots of TV channels . It is not cheap of course as it is in Davos, but It offers a good competition to older hotels. For the same price as other hotels might cost you, you get to stay in a brand new hotel. We did not visit the spa, so I cannot comment on it, but I am sure it was nice. We went for dinner one evening, so I can definitely recommend the restaurant. The prices are "normal" for CH, but the food you get is good. Service at the reception was very welcoming. They have bigger garage places - no problem with a SUV :) The location of the hotel is really good, the bus stop is just 20m away from the hotel. So no need to use your car at all, once you are in Davos. We got a free bus pass also, so even if you don't have ski pass yet, you can use the bus free of charge. The eau-là-là badi is also practically just opposite the hotel.

What a terrific hotel. It's brand new and very well designed. The rooms are clean, comfortable and modern. The bathrooms are much nicer than one has any right to expect in a hotel of this class.

The breakfast buffet was solid. My son really enjoyed making his own waffles and apart from the lack of lots of fresh fruit, it was great. A carafe of hot coffee on each table, plenty of space in the restaurant and a good mix of skiers and non-skiers.

The hotel staff was attentive and friendly. They helped us find the bus, which is the main to navigate the town and is conveniently just a few meters from the hotel entrance.

We also enjoyed the spa/sauna in the basement. It's small, but we had a great time in both the dry and wet rooms after a busy day on the slopes. Even the ski storage room is light, new and very clean.

All in all, a really great new hotel that delivers everything it promises and more. Well done. It was perfect for our family ski trip.

Stayed last weekend and had a great time with the family and our two kids. Stayed two nights. Hotel is brand new - just opened in Dec 2012. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was great - also had dinner there with the kids. Location is superb - on the Promenade - main street in Davos. Have underground parking underneath the hotel, which we used as well. Trip was easy 2 hours from Zurich - door to door. Went up to Schatzalp and took the sleighs down, great experience for the kids. Do not miss a stop at Kaffee Klatsch - the greatest coffee shop in the area. Rooms are very nice - free WIFI - and a great ski room, which we used for our sleighs. Will hopefully have a chance to return soon. Had a family room with a pull out couch - worked perfectly for us.

I hadn't been to Davos before but as there was a new Hilton decided to pay it a visit for some skiing.

I don't think most people would imagine Hilton building a bad new hotel and that is certainly the case here. The rooms have a nice specification with all the usual things like flat screen TV etc. The public areas are very nicely decorated along with the breakfast / restaurant area.

Location for me was perfect being opposite Eau la la with a large swimming pool and wellness area ( although the Hilton has its own fitness center, sauna, and steam room ). The location is approximately mid way between Davos Platz and Davos Dorf so Id head left for skiing and right for shopping although you could head in either direction for either activity.

I will try and come back next year as I really liked Davos and the hotel.

We stayed here for a few days of skiing in December 2012. Everything was running smoothly, the staff was helpful, the room was comfortable with a good view of the mountains (although it was located on the first floor), the lobby is nice, parking is convenient, the location in the center of Davos is very good, the bus stop (which takes you to the ski lifts) is only a few steps away. We only have good things to report.

As others have said this is a brand new hotel and all of the decor is very slick and modern. For me there were just a few minor things that need to be sorted out, probably just teething problems that will be resolved with time.

The location for us was just OK, perfect if you are in Davos on business as it is opposite the conference centre. There is also a bus stop directly outside (number 3) which goes into town and by the ski lifts, the bus goes every 15mins I think. A day ski pass was included with our room rate which also covered the bus fare - very convenient! The issue was that it is quite far to walk to the train station, especially with all of the thick ice on the pavements (& if you have cases) so you really do need to use the bus - no big deal you just need to get the timing right so you are not stood outside for long.

The staff were very helpful, but reception gets busy around peak times (we missed our bus to the train station & had to take a taxi.....expensive in Switzerland) so leave yourself some extra time. Breakfast was standard buffet. You need to get there early as it gets busy & things ran out (filter coffee & juices). The rooms were nice - comfy bed, hot shower (no bath) & free WiFi. There were cigarette ends on the balcony which I found off-putting & no shelf in the shower to put toiletries on (again just minor).

The pantry downstairs is a good idea.....but I would suggest still including some items in the mini bar. It’s a pain if you want a drink/snack later in the evening & you have to go downstairs to get it.

I am not complaining here, the staff are doing a great job & HGI is a good hotel……but I think it will take a few more months for them to be great.

This hotel was less than a month old when we went their for a weekend of skiing. The staff were clearly inexperienced, but trying really hard to be helpful. The building is brand new as well, and the rooms immaculate and large for the region. It's also right in the middle of town (so you need a short bus trip to the ski lifts). Free internet access (moderate connection quality). Modern, but as a result, somewhat lacking in charm.
