Concerning pets: We do not have that many "as guests" in our house and I can assure you that those rooms are cleaned extremly thouroughly.

This hotel is close to shops and restaurants on the Promenade. The rooms are large compared to many Davos hotels. The staff were very helpful and friendly. It is about a mile to the Congress Center but the walk is very easy. Breakfast had a decent variety. Our room was clean. I would have preferred a queen/king bed rather than two beds pushed together. Also would have liked a kettle in the room for tea and coffee but this is not as common in Switzerland as in the UK. The overall decor of the hotel and rooms is dated and probably needs an upgrade in the next few years.

Room Tip: The end room is 625. Good view & quiet .

We were there for a sports weekend (hike, bike, swim). The bikes we could store in the ski room. NIce rooms, a bit small but lovely. Pets are allowed. The restaurant is a bit loud and very Club Med like. Breakfast buffet is large with many varieties. The pool size is reasonable. The fitness room huge. Perfect location for a long weekend stay with planned activities. Free parking available. We just booked it once more for a winter weekend!

Room Tip: ask for a room with balcony

Very helpful reception staff. Great pool very clean and a pleasure to swim in. Lots of lovely tours nearby. Rooms very small but neat and clean. Nice breakfast. But we preferred to eat at night in the restaurant adjacent to the main huge cafe (made for lots of tour groups). Very nice place to stay. Walking distance e up the hill from the railway station.

Unlike a lot of the reviewers who will visit the area for winter skiing, I've stayed at the Sunstar Hotel in Davos is early June whilst touring round the alps by car.

Having been advised to use the hotels "lock-up" car park as a security measure, you enter the hotel via a very large reception that just has tourist stamped all over it. Not a bad thing, but this hotel is clearly used to catering for very large groups/numbers of people, which seems at odd's with how quiet they are in early June.

I didn't get to try most of the hotel's facilities, but the food (breakfast and evening meals) were excellent and the "not too extravagantly priced" junior suites extremely luxurious.

Room Tip: Junior Suites give two rooms/two bathrooms/two balconies and excellent views.

Large hotel with great amenities such as beatiful spa and pool area but with a friendly atmosphere and a warm, welcoming approach from all the staff. The bar and lounge is very attractive with live piano music each evening. The large restaurant with panaromic views served excellent evening meals with a light, fine dining touch. There were also highlights during the week such as the seafood buffet starter and the dessert buffet. Breakfast was extensive and delicious including my favourite birchermuesli. My room was a single and the most economical, but it was spotlessly clean and well appointed. It also included extra touches such as free soft drinks and beer, robe and slippers and free wifi. The hotel shuttle service to the ski lifts and railway station was excellent, friendly and efficient which greatly improved the enjoyment of my ski trip. The in house ski rental service was also immensely convenient. They do seem to have thought of everything! I understand that they also have a very good loyalty scheme with benefits to members which I will certainly be looking into.

The Parkhotel is a 4*... but it's one of those cases where the hotel gets it's stars by offering lots of servies, not particularly by providing first-rate accommodation. We had two double rooms on the 7th floor. The rooms are decked out in pine wood, as are all the furnishings, all in all nice enough. The style of the furnishings is dated, but still ok. The carpet however has seen better days, and the bathroom badly needs a renovation. The latter dates from the early eighties.

The rooms was spacious enough, there was also a pretty large balcony with a small table and chairs which looked nice. The view would have been fantastic (we had extremely bad weather). There was a minibar and the usual amenities, bathrobe and slippers included. Still, our whole impression of the rooms (the photos on the internet are accurate) was that of a 3* hotel.

The hotel does offer an extremely varied breakfast buffet, a well-appointed spa and some other convenient services like ski rental in the hotel, ski room at entrance level and the free shuttle. The lobby is very large and features a nice bar. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We liked it well enough, but I don't think I would want to spend a whole week in that decidely worn-looking room. Especially since we considered the room rate quite expensive.
