One of the things we enjoy doing when we are on holiday is selecting places to eat. Arriving in Chur on a Sunday afternoon in late December, the fabulous Chur Tourist Office had a helpful map of places to eat open on Sunday evening. We've been to Chur a number of times before so we knew of some of the places, but hadn't come across the Va Bene until this year. It is a few minutes walk away from the centre but on sitting down that evening, the restaurant was very full which we took to be a good sign. We were not disappointed. The welcome was charming and the food was excellent. I would echo all the comments of the previous reviewer. The ambience, presentation of the food, taste, wine list, service were all excellent. We also found the set menu to be of excellent value for the quality of the food we had. We were delighted that we could book a table for the final night of our stay and if anything, the food was even better! A special word of praise for the staff, I wish I had made a note of their names so I could put them in this review, they deserve it!
We are already look forward to our next trip to Chur, a return to the Va Bene (at least one) will certainly be part of it.
