I've stayed in a lot of youth hostels, but this was truly not a good deal (which is the entire point of staying at a youth hostel).
First and probably most important (while traveling in an area where even a basic pizza can cost $20): while there is a kitchen, it has no refrigerator, no eating utensils, glasses, cups or even plates or bowls. It does have two pots (without lids) and electric kettles, but that's it. When I asked the manager, she irritatedly replied, "It's a dormitory...!" When I said that most hostels have refrigerators, she basically waved me off.
Location is fine, and free off street parking right outside the dorm door.
Good security: requires a coded key fob for both outside and room doors.
Bathrooms large, clean and well lit.
Rooms have large windows for lots of light.
Basically, if you are just needing a place to sleep, or intend to be out all day and can afford local restaurants or are ok with cold food, this is fine. If you want the amenties of a youth hostel -- common room, useable kitchen -- skip it.More
