The hotel, as well as the room were very clean and confortable. The view from the terrace of our room was splendid (Jungfrau), and we had a very nice stay. The reception was very nice and effective, the restaurant was also very good. The location of the hotel is a little bit inconvenient (a little bit far from the station), but, the porter service was very effective which can easily compensate the distance from the hotel. We have stayed only two nights, but if we have a chance to stay again, we would like to stay more.

Room Tip: The room having a very nice view of Jungfrau, it is preferable to stay at least a couple of days. B...

I first stayed at the Wengener Hof in 2008 and have been back twice since, most recently in Aug this year. The hotel is as perfect as the first time and you can understand why people keep going back. The hotel, its staff and the location are fabulous. You are greeted by a smiling face on arrival at reception and nothing is too much trouble. The bedrooms are lovely and beds comfortable and kept spotless. I had a balcony room for the first time this year (I treated myself!)and the views are amazing!! The hotel is in lovely, quiet location but only short 5-10min walk from the station, or if you need the hotel will sent a vehicle to pick you up - quite exciting sitting on the back :)
Giovanni is in charge of the front of house team and I have never seen him without a smile on his face, nothing too much trouble. All the staff are really helpful and attentive. A big thank you to William (lovely to see him again), Daniel and the girls for waiting up in the eve to serve us in the lounge after evening meal with drinks.
Speaking of meals - wow! The food is gorgeous and the buffet on Swiss National Day is exceptional. We nearly didn't make it down into the village to see the fireworks we were that full.
Hope to be back for a fourth visit.

Room Tip: All the rooms I have stayed in have been good, but if you can afford to spend a bit more, go for a b...

From the moment we arrived we knew we had made the right choice of hotel. There is nothing more important then the way you are greeted when you walk through a door. The service couldn't have been better. Nothing was too much. The rooms although slightly dated have all you need. And what can I say about the view from the balcony. Wow. Breakfast was good and plenty of choice. Would definitely recommend it and would like to think we will come again. Thank you.

Recently returned from our twelfth stay at the Wengenerhof. Wengen is our favourite resort in the Bernese Oberland and we wouldn't think of staying anywhere but this hotel. It is both welcoming and friendly, with excellent service from helpful staff and we regard Giovanni and Cornelia as our dear friends. The views from the south facing rooms are magnificent and there is a pretty garden with sun loungers for relaxing after those mountain walks. The hotel is in a quiet location and ideal for those looking for a peaceful holiday in beautiful surroundings. Good breakfast buffet with both hot and cold food and the Wengenerhof's chef prepares excellent dinners, especially on gala occasions such as Swiss National Day. The waiters in the dining room provide discreet but friendly silver service. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff here to add to the comfort of their guests, many of whom return year after year. We have made some lovely friends here. Needless to say, we hope to be back again before very long!

Two weeks ago, as my wife and I entered our balcony at the Wengener Hof , our expectations were exceeded by the awesome view of the deep green Lauterbruunen valley surrounded by mountains including the snow capped Breithorn. I took photos of this scene each day at different hours, catching the sun striking the mountains at various angles.

This hotel is located a few minutes walk from the main drag of Wengen where you can take the gondola up the mountain to the village of Manlicken , the departure point for a very scenic yet easy 1 hour walk to Kleine Scheideg, home of the north face of the Eiger.

The Wenger Hof sits on a hill surrounded by trees and bushes. Reclining beach chairs decorate the front yard. Nobody bothers you here.

Whenever we asked the front desk clerk for assistance, he or she was very helpful, providing ice, cork screw, or arranging free transportation down to the wengen train station.

The breakfast buffet was acceptable. Eggs, cheeses, pork and fruit. I applaud Switzerland's sausage and bacon. Compared to pork found in America, these breakfast treats taste good, (i.e. chemical free ).

I have no complaints about this hotel, and will recommend it to friends and family.

Room Tip: Take a room with balcony facing the Lauterbrunnen Valley.

We have just returned from our 3rd visit to this fantastic hotel. From the moment you walk through the doors you feel a welcoming and friendly atmosphere which continues for the duration of your stay. Giovannia, Cornelia and ALL the staff cannot do enough to make your holiday a memorable experience. Wherever you walk the sound of cow bells is never far away - magical. The bedrooms, especially those on the south side, have balconies with views which take your breath away, the mountains and the Lauterbrunnen Valley, with its superb waterfall, are just stunning. The transport system is second to none. Wengen is a traffic free village, but by using the cable car and/or trains, it is possible to explore the region without any difficulty. There are many fantastic walks for all abilities and at this time of the year the wild flowers are really beautiful. The food at the hotel is very varied, and extremely appetising and well presented - during our stay it was Swiss National Day and the Chef had created a most interesting buffet. We have visited this hotel during the winter as well and you don't have to be able to ski - walks are open which you share with toboggans. It is spectacular. We know we will return, there is nowhere quite like it.

Welcoming, comfortable, excellent cuisine, divine views, peaceful, perfect! Giovanni, Cornelia and ALL the staff will ensure that you have a holiday to remember. From the moment you are met at the station by the electric car (Yes, Wengen is a traffic free village) you will be transported to a different world, one without pressure, demands, noise or annoyance. Retiring at night with the balcony doors open, watching the moon rise above the snow-capped mountains and possibly hearing the distant waterfall induces a calm and peace which is rare in this busy world. Giovanni will ensure that your requirements are met, nothing is too much trouble, and you will be remembered by name at the reception desk from day one! The silver service in the dining room is pure pleasure, the staff are professional yet friendly and kind and the amazingly talented chef will provide exquisite culinary delights for you each evening. The scenery is stunning, the walking suitable for all abilities from easy to tough and the transport around the area by mountain train, gondola or bus is always on time and so convenient for easy connections should you wish to explore other villages and places of interest. For us Wengen is heaven on earth in every respect, very special, and, unlike many people we have met at the Wengener Hof who have been returning for countless years, we have only visited three times but there is no doubt it will not be our last!

Room Tip: Pay a little more and have a South facing balcony room for a stunning view though all rooms are quie...
