a charming atmospheric hotel with a palpable sense of history -each time you enter the foyer feels like being transported back in time to a more gracious era. Friendly and attentive staff, cosy bar with sense of community -other guests had been visiting regularly for over 20 years. Rooms warm and comfortable with balconies with great views over the picturesque village. Reasonably priced dinners with good variety and pots of tea available to take up to our room.
The hotel is a little up the hill from the village as was most of the accommodation in Wengen (it's a ski resort)-there is a shuttle van to pick you up on arrival and you can ski in and out from beside the ski storage room, so location is great. If you are an absolute beginner this might be a little difficult on the first day and overall would caution about Wengen in that situation, as access to the beginner runs is a bit tricky.
However Wengen is a beautiful resort and Hotel Falken, one of the most atmospheric and charismatic accommodations that you will find -highly recommend!

A charming old fashioned hotel with excellent friendly staff. Rooms are light and airy with good fresh linen, showers work well with plenty of hot water (crucial after a day's skiing!). Evening meal is a set menu with a limited choice but this is well judged went down very well even with our large group (20+). Very well located in the heart of the old village with great views, almost on the slopes for skiers as well. Great value family run establishment, we will return.

This is a fantastic hotel. It is quirky and old-fashioned but marvellous. I think the set evening meal is the best food I've had skiing, at least compared to other set evening meals. The food is fresh and well cooked. There is a slightly 1970s feel - duck/orange - but none the worse for that. The food/ambience is reminiscent of the Royal Oak at Rosthwaite in way or that's the nearest English comparison that springs to mind. We liked the bar and the piano room.Great location for skiing. Great atmosphere over New Year.

The Falken without doubt is a unique hotel; as soon as we stepped through the door we felt at home. We had the most perfect week, the food was excellent, New Year's dinner was outstanding. The rooms are light and airy and clean. We could not recommend it more highly.
The only very small issue was a little noise in one of our bedrooms on some nights, but this was understandable being on the first floor.

Stayed in this old establishment a number of times during our ski trips to Wengen over the years, although most things seem to stay the same, charming as ever, however the food seemed to got saltier and saltier. Ski back straight to the ski rooms was great and the view of the village was magnificent.

Room Tip: Rooms on second floor facing the mountain have big terrace to walk out to and cool the beer! Village...

First we didn't have the room for which we had made a reservation, so we had a small, dark and loud "superior" room on the south side - which I would say is not the best side. Then, we unexpectedly had to pay more than listed on the email confirmation. The tenant argued unequably and let us feel stupid. Anyway, the price is much too high, the food is poor (mostly outsourced or out of the can), the service is not very nice (we had to insist to get some simple and necessary information). Last but not least, if you stay in Wengen more than 2-3 days and do not like to play parlor games every night, you'd rather choose another place to stay!

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the higher floors if you want to rest a bit in the morning... Corner rooms are...
