We stayed here for 2 nights as a part of a tour. We were overwhelmed with the hospitality shown to us by staff and the location was fantastic. The rooms were large, rustic and immaculate. The views up the Jungfrau could be seen from our window and were spectacular. We ate in the restaurant for breakfast both days and dinner both nights. The food was delicious and served quickly. From here it was easy to continue on the railway up the Jungfrau and was only a short walk to the train station of Wengen. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The staffs were extremely helpful and always gave it their all. The views from the rooms were stunning and even though the walk from the town to the hotel was a bit steep it was lovely.

It did need a refurbishment but the rooms were all spotlessly clean and there wasn't a speck of dirt.
The food was basic and could have been better but still tasty.
There wasn't any TV but when you are there we didn't really notice and looking at the view was much nicer :)

You also had to pay if you wanted eggs but apparently this is normal in the country.

The hotel was nice and friendly and the staffs again was lovely

I'm a repeat visitor to Wengen, so have stayed at a number of places over the years.

A last minute request into the Tourist Office brought up this gem. We booked 2 days before arrival and got into the village early evening. We were picked up from the ski hire shop and shown into a fantastic newly built apartment right by the hotel.

We had full hotel service - meals, bar etc.

The staff were helpful and friendly and the family Brunner most accommodating and professional too. The hotel is in a good ski in/ski out position - even given the poor snow conditions whilst we were there - and has a good slopeside bar. Yes, it is a 10 minute walk into town - but a pleasant one given the beautiful location.

The hotel meals were good - though no choice - so vegetarians etc need to let the hotel know in advance as they are clearly willing to cater to specific requirements. Service attentive and a good but brief wine list.

Am almost reluctant to mention the apartment as it should be kept a secret ! Beautifully fitted 3 bed/2bath apartment with very well equipped kitchen and stylish living room/dining space with flatscreen TV/CD/DVD. Secret is out .... Though the apartments are for sale so not sure how available they will be for holiday lets in future.

This was booked last minute for a Wengen ski weekend. Our choices were limited, but this was a pretty good spot. A few comments:

Ski in/out is a bit misleading. Ski in is definitely the case, as the main trail from the back side of the mountain goes right by the hotel. At the end of the day a great apres ski outdoor bar opens up in front of the hotel. It makes for a great scene after a tough day on the slopes! However, when you put your skis on in the morning, be warned getting to the bottom of the mountain isn't very clear. One morning we took a wrong turn and ended up on a road. The other way (the correct way) was found the next day, but requires a good hike uphill and you might as well pop those skis off.

The bellman (Carlos) was very helpful and will drive you to/from the train station. Other then that, the staff was not really accomodating.

Breakfast wasn't much special - cold cuts, bread and cereal. There is assigned seating, but no one to seat you so don't be surprised if someone asks you to move mid-meal?

The bar/lounge area was nice once the bar outside got cold. It had comfortable seating and plenty of room.

The rooms were clean as was the bathroom, but nothing special. Note the top floor is an A-frame roof (watch your head).

The value is great for a single, but it was pricey for two people!

The whole reason we chose The Brunner was for the ski-in/ski-out benefit and we weren't disappointed with our choice. It's a very comfortable, cosy hotel with excellent friendly staff who were all only too happy to accommodate any needs we had, even down to the barman who made the nights propped up in the hotel bar extremely enjoyable. The rooms were a little on the basic side but had everything we needed and the food was excellent, even for a fussy eater like myself.

I would highly recommend a visit!
