We stayed here in January 2012 for our annual ski holiday with friends. It is an old style alpine hotel with lots of character which we liked. The manageress was visable every evening and came round both the dining room and bar area. The rooms were good with lots of space and modern updated bathrooms. The food was good with a good selection at both breakfast and dinner. We were there at the time of the world cup and had the Swiss ski team in the hotel which made both the breakfast and dinner interesting along with the evenings in the bar area. The hotel has a ski room and a heated boot room. The hotel is about five minutes walk to the cable car and ten minutes from the railway station so it is not ski in/out. The station was very busy at the weekends so be prepared. It is worth getting the whole area pass and with planning you can get to all areas with a little walking required between stations. It is also worth taking the trip to the revolving restaurant used from the James Bond film and the black run out of the restaurant is a good ski home.

I truly loved this hotel...very friendly Manager (who is fantastic by the way) who was very flexible with us even keeping the hotel open an extra night when they were due to close. Amazing views from our rooms, excellent value for money....lovely relaxing breakfast....and a beautiful building. Will definitely be back and would recommend anyone to stay here whether in winter or summer...

Room Tip: As for a room with a balcony as you get fantastic views...

Five of us decided to try the delights of skiing around the North face of the Eiger. we decided on a trip with Inghams and picked their second cheapest hotel in Wengen; the Belvedere. What a fantastic choice; everything about this hotel was perfect including a very reasonable price, in fact we cant believe how they do it at the price. The rooms, food, bar, dining room and overall ambiance were perfect. the staff (everyone of them) were friendly, efficient and just couldn't do enough to make our stay perfect. every evening the manageress came around to every guest in the dinning room to check that everything was OK.
In short this is the best hotel, bar none, that we have stayed in.

Room Tip: the top floor is up in the eves so the ceilings are slanted and result in restricted headroom at the...

Wengen had been on my list for sometime, so when I finally got to go last spring, I was stoked, needless to say. Only problem was, where to stay? I hopped on Trip Advisor, read the reviews, and realized it would be a hard decision as everywhere had about equal reviews. I opted for the Hotel Belvedere, as the only difference between it and most of the other places I looked at was the price, which included my breakfasts and dinners during my stay. Upon arriving in Wengen, I realized that you'd be hard pressed to be disappointed by any of the charming old hotels in the quaint Alpen village. The Hotel Belvedere was no exception. It met every expectation I had developed from the reviews I had read, and even exceeded many of them.
The hotel is quaint with an old world feel to it. It is older with much character, but no less comfortable, and has a great overall family feel to it. I was greeted quite warmly by the receptionist who was on and the hotel's resident dog, which, as I had read in nearly every review, was sleeping comfortably on the office floor, completely unphased by my arrival.
The lobby boasts a large, yet comfortable reading room with fireplace, with an equally large dining hall down the hall from it. Both of which have fantastic views of the region. My room was of good size for an older hotel, and very comfortable and very clean. The bed was also very comfortable, which was well welcomed at the end of each full day. It had all the amenities one could ask for, but still retained that same old world charm found throughout the hotel. And the views? They were no less spectacular.
Now on to the hotel's dining facility. They offered a breakfast buffet and dinner buffet, both of which were quite good. It was great having home cooked meals again after having been traveling and eating out for so long. In fact, they were some of the better meals that I had through that leg of my trip. A table was reserved for us through the length of the stay, which was convenient. And the serving staff was friendly and treated us as though we were regulars. It felt very much like home, but with service.
If there is a drawback, it would be that the hotel is a little further out from the train station and cable car. Even so, it's no more than five minutes walk away and well worth it as it's a little quieter out from the center of town.
To sum up, the Hotel Belvedere was a great find and one I would definitely stay at again when I return to Wengen! The food was great, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the views were fantastic! Let's not forget the staff who treated my sister and I like family, made suggestions on what to do or see everyday as we would leave to embark on that's day's adventure, and ask how the day was when we would return, with a seemingly genuine interest in what we thought about their home. Definitely worth the stay and great value for the money!

The staff were really friendly and helpful. We had 2 celebrations during the week, one of which was a birthday and they provided a cake without anybody asking. The food was really nice with a good selection every night. The lounge and restaurant are beautiful, especially if you like 1930s styling. Rooms were comfortable with plenty of storage space, only down side really was feather pillows which don't provide any head support. The views from the hotel are stunning, also it's well positioned just far enough from the main street to avoid the noise but near enough that it's only a short walk.

Room Tip: The view from the south facing rooms is down along the Lauterbrunnen valley.

We stayed at the Hotel Belvedere last week on a Crystal Ski holidays.
This hotel is situated a few minutes walk from the train station and the Mannlichen cable car.
It overlooks the beautiful Wengen area and if you can secure a room with a balcony facing south with views of the Jungfrau, you will not be disappointed.
The bedroom is spacious enough by alpine ski resort standards: only complaint, the very poor quality of the pillows. They should not be issued to guests but be binned!
We were there on a half board basis. The quality and variety of the food offered is very average and all meals are self service. The restaurant room is in serious need of updating! The decor and furnishing are very unappealing.
We were given the opportunity to have dinner at their sister hotel, the Silberhorn, via a voucher system. No comparison: excellent a la carte menu, well worth the extra.
We found the staff at the Belvedere pleasant .
Overall,value for money.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony facing south

Stayed for 7 days on thompson half board package. The hotel has characterful decor, with an open fire in the bar.The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast and evening meal served as a help your self buffet were plentiful, varied, and remarkably well cooked and warm, due to regular top ups of serving dishes.
Our room was comfortable and bathroom modern and clean. No view but could have paid a supplement.
The manageress came around the tables at dinner every night to check that all was well.
We genuinely had no complaints and were never bothered by the noise from other rooms during our stay.We slept soundly after great skiing, good food and wine. Highly recommend it.
