Really nice apartment for a family vacation. Spacious, bright, and quiet but still centrally located just downhill from both the train station and the COOP market. Balcony provides a great view of the Eiger glacier in the distance. Apartment is in great condition, perhaps recently renovated? Everything new, clean and modern. Swiss Maid Services staff (Julie) really friendly and helpful.
I cannot praise the accommodation and service enough. Located a very short walk from the station with amazing views of the Jungfrau, the apartment is spacious and modern, and has everything you will need during your stay. The management is fantastic. We had a small issue with hot water, but this was fixed within 30 minutes, on a Sunday evening!
The Bella Vista is one of our favorite apartments in Wengen. As noted, it is spacious - comfortably sleeping a family of 5 with 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. The living/dining/kitchen area is quite large and have floor-to-ceiling windows for great viewing. Or, step out onto the wrap around porch if the weather is nice for viewing. The kitchen has everything you'll need if you decide to prepare meals at home as we often do. Our preference is to eat out during our day excursions and return home for a peaceful evening in the apartment. Go the Chas Gruebi cheese store to pick up fondue to-go (its the best and way cheaper than a restaurant), some bread from the bakery and use the authentic fondue pot (in cabinet next to the fridge).
If you're traveling with small children, you'll be delighted to find a yard with a small play set on the property. There are also a few board games, DVDs and books in the apartment if you somehow get bored or just want to rest after a long hike. And, there are laundry facilities too - just across the hall.
The chalet is centrally located just 5 minutes from the train station/city center although there is quite a hill to navigate but you'll find those everywhere in Wengen:-) It is downhill from the station - up hill back to the station. My kids love to complain about the hill.
Finally, the manager, Julie Doyle, is lovely. She a great source of information and takes time to orient you to your apartment as well as the area. She lives in the village so if you by any chance have an issue it will be resolved quickly. You'll most likely see her in her cute mini-van scooting through the village or on her bike.
