Stayed for 2 nights and despite being cloudy/foggy much of the time was still an amazing place to visit. As this was our first stop of the trip loved the location of guesthouse being directly in front of the train station. Also very easy walk to other end of town for the cable car up to the Schilthorn. Booked the half board option and food was very good. My husband said the sausage rosti was one of his most memorable meals of the trip.

We had a fabulous time. The Eiger Guesthouse was conveniently located. The rooms were very nice, clean, very updated with incredible views. The staff were just the nicest people while supplying excellent service. They made some excursion suggestions, which we did and totally enjoyed. The food at the Eiger Guesthouse Restaurant was so delicious. We had to check out early on the day we left (before breakfast was served) and they packed a "to go" breakfast for us to take with us and we really appreciated that "over and above" act of kindness! Try it! You will LOVE it.

We were at the Eiger Guesthouse for 5 days / 4 nights in the last week of September. It was a fantastic choice - cozy, friendly, comfortable, quiet, in a great location, and with a great view. Ema and the employees were warm, caring, and helpful, and really made the difference for our trip. We'll never forget it, and the next time we're back, we know where we'll be staying!

Room Tip: Small rooms, but comfortable; no elevator; patio off the side of the 1st floor, so that may be noisy...

I've stayed in many hotels in Europe, but the warmth, kindness, and helpfulness of Ema and her staff make this a very special place. I injured my back while in Murren, and the help that I received, and the concern that was shown, from Ema and staff was truly overwhelming. Eiger Guesthouse will always have a special place in my memory and I wouldn't hesitate recommending this hotel for visitors to Murren. The hotel is very clean, and the rooms are perfect. The food is their restaurant is also excellent.
Ema, if the world was full of people like you, it would be a wonderful place!

It's hard to believe it's already been a month since our stay at the Eiger Guesthouse... we already wish we could go back! My wife and I stayed here for two nights during a jam-packed European work/fun trip in September. Our "Murren stop" was in the middle of our trip and was exactly the perfect vacation-from-your-vacation we needed.

Your host, Ema and all of her staff at the Eiger Guesthouse are absolutely the warmest, most welcoming people on the planet and made our too-brief stay at the Eiger Guesthouse so very enjoyable. You leave feeling like you are saying good bye to life-long friends!

The rooms are simple, clean and cozy, very pleasant, and well-kept. We opted to get a nice room with a view - SO WORTH IT... Incredible, waking up to snow-capped Alps in the morning.

Dinners in the restaurant were delicious - well prepared, with fresh ingredients and local-inspired regional fair... be adventurous and try the wild game offerings. Ema also has chosen some very fine wines to go along with your dinner. Breakfast was simple, but hearty. The staff was always helpful, courteous and gave some great recommendations.

Evenings were fun - keeping warm in the pub, meeting and making new friends, and trying the local libations! Murren is the most beautiful cliff-side village and serves as a great home base to explore the Alps and to hike the Lauterbrunnen Valley... Ema even found a pair of hiking shoes for my wife to borrow for the day! Hope we can get back soon one of these days!

We enjoyed our stay in Mürren at the Eiger Guesthouse. After taking multiple trains and a cable car ride, and a final train ride, it's nice to roll your bags just across a street to this place.

Mürren is a great place to stay for access to the Schilthorn, hiking trails, and exploring the Jungfrau region. We'd recommend taking a walk along the floor of the valley to Trümmelbachfälle, an amazing waterfall cascade that you view by entering into the side of the mountain. A short funicular ride takes you up to the beginning of a concrete path to view the waterfalls, then you can walk back down to the entrance (good exercise and worth it).

Regarding the guesthouse itself, we stayed in room 9 on the third floor, which probably has the best view across to the Eiger. The train station obscures the view increasingly on lower floors, but really, if the weather is clear, you will likely not spend much time inside looking out. So look out primarily to check the weather and to refresh your memory of where you are (the view is startlingly beautiful!). Mürren and the surrounds is to be experienced outdoors if at all possible during the daylight. In the evening the dinners at the Eiger Guesthouse's restaurant are quite excellent and moderately priced. We had better meals there than when we tried other places in Mürren. The room was clean but the bedding and floor were rather sneeze-inducing dusty. The staff are indeed very friendly and welcoming. We recommend this place very much.
