My family really enjoyed our 2 night stay in mid August. The rooms are very fresh and the ones we stayed in on the top floor had been recently renovated. As others have stated, the view from the balcony is STUNNING!!! There are no other hotels or buildings between you and the mountains and the valley below. Roger, the hotel owner is extremely warm and eager to please. The breakfast was nice, with the ability to make your own boiled eggs. It also offered a view of the mountains. We didn't have dinner at the hotel, but it is an option. The only negative is that the curtains in our rooms were strictly of a sheer, decorative variety, and the rooms facing the mountains face east. We were awoken very early each morning by the brilliant sunrise. The option to close real curtains would have been appreciated.

Room tip: Ask for a room facing the mountains. There isn't an elevator so if you can't do stairs, ask for a low floor.

We stayed here last night. The hotel room was really nice and very clean.
We had decided not to spend the extra 20cf to get a room with a mountain view. Bad move. My advice to anyone that reads this is to pay the premium for the view. All rooms have balconies with a couple of chairs and a small table, but to have a view of the mountains is pretty special. Spend the extra money, go to the Coop (store) just up the street and buy some happy hour stuff and go back and enjoy the view. You won't regret it.
The people at the hotel were very nice. The room rate included a very nice breakfast with excellent coffee.
We would stay here again.

We visited the Alpina Hotel together with another couple and our 1 year-old son. We were lucky to rent the little "apartment" on the 3rd floor, which comes with 2 bed rooms one incredible balcony with STUNNING views and a shared bathroom, which was ideal for us.
Overall, this was SUCH a pleasant experience! Super clean, very (child) friendly, delicious breakfast. We simply loved it and would return any day!!

To sit on the balcony of your room, looking out at the Eiger and the entire mountainside that makes up the Monk and Jungfrau, as well as the town of Wengen across the Lauterbrunnen Valley, really makes you think you have died and gone to heaven. Then you go downstairs and have one of the best dinners you have ever had in all of your days. And then to chat with the staff, that is so friendly and warm. There is not a better spot on earth.

Summer Review:
Every place in Murren has a breathtaking view and Alpina is no exception. Im not much for taking pictures or watching sunsets but I couldn't take my eyes off of these mountains. This is truly the best view from a hotel I have ever had hands down(I am a backpacker.)
You get the sense that this place is really busy in the winter and that hotels are built more with the winter season in mind, meaning that things are more durable than visually appealing.
Why I would stay at Alpina Again: Reasonable rates, friendly staff, free breakfast, good wifi, nice outdoor seating where you can drink beer and play cards or joke around.
