The service at this hotel was superb. We were greeted with smiles at every turn. In the restaurant our glasses were kept topped up with iced water and wine the whole evening. Breakfast and the 5 course dinner menu was delicious and well presented. We had a superior room looking on to the Eiger which was amazing. The room was very comfortable and the staff were very much "we can do".
We went to walk in Murren and we were not disappointed - wonderful walking from gentle to severe. We loved the Hydrotherapy pool with back and neck massages. There wasn't anything that we didn't like about this hotel

We were lucky enough to find a last-minute deal at the Hotel Eiger at a fair price after booking somewhere else. We read other reviews of the Eiger and found the positive stories to all be true. The family running the hotel are very friendly and warm. The public spaces were very clean, but we were more surprised to find how immaculate our room was. It was a one-bedroom with a separate living area with 2 drop-down single beds. The bedroom had its own double vanity bathroom with tub, and there was another full bath near the living room. Everything was in prime condition - no sign of wear anywhere. Although the Lauterbrunnen Valley was completely fogged in when we arrived, the next morning we had a spectacular view from our balcony of the snow-capped mountains on the other side. Beyond that, the menu and service in the restaurant was superb. No bargains there (just like the rest of Switzerland), but they had a full game menu in addition to the usual menu, and it was all top quality. The town of Murren (free of cars) is charming, with great hiking and beautiful scenery all around. You cannot go wrong with the Hotel Eiger.

We traveled to Murren, Switzerland. What a picture perfect Alpine community reached by cable car and train. I would definitely say this is an area of Switzerland you must see. The Hotel Eiger is right across from the train station and was a wonderful hotel. The price is about what we paid at other hotels(around $250 a night with a view of the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau)-less without the view but isn't that why you want to stay in an Alpine village? There is a pool and the rooms are a nice size with a modern bathroom(robes/slippers, too). The owners are wonderfully helpful and friendly. They offer a reception for all the guests once a week, champagne flowing freely with the owners coming to speak with all the guests. Dinner is an experience with the staff coming to show the meal for your inspection before serving it. My husband and I had a large portion of a chicken dish, with potatoes and veggies AND, then,we were offered-seconds!!!!! (All for about $28 dollars per person). You could get a complete meal for $50 but we didn't wish all the different courses. Breakfast is included in the price with lots of choices AND more champagne! There is free computer use in the lobby. I would definitely recommend the Hotel Eiger!--

Superb in all respects: clean, comfortable room; spectacular views; excellent food; and -- most noteworthy -- a friendly, well-informed and conscientious staff that never disappointed in activity and restaurant advice, service or just a sincere morning greeting.

If you are looking to stay in Murren...this is the ONLY PLACE TO STAY! It's pricier than others in the village but completely worth it. Don't waste your time looking anywhere else.
