Spent 4 days in this comfortable hotel in July.Clean modern rooms, good front desk service, friendly owners and an excellent a la carte restuarant. Also 3 minute walk from the train station and tourist information office. Only negatives, smallish rooms and a little expensive for this srar rating. Two surprises in meiringen, a tuesday night music performance in the main street, and a saturday morning market in the square opposite the hotel

This is an usual hotel for this area of Switzerland: modern décor, minimalist design, etc. compared to the usual Swiss Chalet design. The sleeping and bath rooms are a bit small but very clean and comfortable. There is no wi-fi or Internet, but there is a reasonably priced Internet store within steps of the hotel. The restaurant serves high quality food in two rooms: choose the bar area to get all the choices. You can also eat outside on a nice day. The views are excellent as as long as you're not facing the bus station.

Very nice hotel. Rooms are not large, according to my feeling this is more three-star. But for the service, especially for this hotel restaurant can be forgiven everything. Dishes really haute cuisine, prepared with love and imagination. From the dinner had so much fun. From the windows of beautiful mountain views. The air is clean and the water can be drunk straight from the tap - so it is clean.

Recent reviews have said it all, so it is difficult to add anything further! This is an excellent boutique hotel and restaurant with an award winning owner/head chef. If you plan to stay, book a half-board package to take advantage of the fantastic food. Our room on the top floor had windows on two sides with great views of the surrounding mountains. The breakfast was the ideal combination of buffet for the cold items, but cooked to order for the main dish. There is no mini-bar, but a very well stocked bar alongside the restaurant.
There are games and books in the lounge, but a bookcase in the entrance contains books for sale, rather than to borrow.
Would like to return, if only the exchange rate would improve!

Switzerland is horrendously expensive, but the Hotel Victoria provided really good value through its weekly terms for half board, which we booked through New Experience Holidays in the UK. And what amazing half board. Every night we enjoyed a four course meal - with three choices of main course - in a modern fusion cuisine combining the best of European and Asian inspired dishes. The first night brought an additional special starter and a welcome glass of prosecco. The restaurant is popular with locals, but even during busy times your table is yours for the evening and the service can be as fast or slow as you like. Breakfasts were also amazing, with an extensive buffet and a hot choice of eggs/bacon or pancakes. The owners and staff were really welcoming and helpful. Previous reviewers commented on the bedroom size, and while the rooms are compact, they are clean and bright and ours allowed us to lie in bed and see the mountains. The showers are excellent. Meiringen itself is a great base for walking and from the hotel you can see the yellow post buses lining up in the morning, ready to take people up the valleys for walks such as those described in the excellent Rother Guide. The station, just outside the hotel, has a half hourly service along Lake Brienz to Interlaken and an hourly service up the hill to Brunig where other buses connect with every train. Not every day in Switzerland is dry and sunny: and on the days it rained really hard we did not feel trapped in our rooms because there is a good hotel lounge with books, games, magazines and fruit - along with a modern cuckoo clock which provides hourly entertainment for younger guests.

Family Anderegg runs their hotel with extraordinary enthusiasm and passion. Very modern and tastelful rooms. A lot of nice guest, most of them regular guests.
I think the best restaurant between Thun and Lucerne, a perfect mixture of light, modern cusine with asian flavour!
