“EXCELLENT FOOD”
Reviewed August 28, 2012

Expensive food but if I am getting such quality of INDIAN TASTE away from home and when your child enjoys food without complaint then money shouldn't be a factor. We enjoyed food, service of friendly staff, polite owner and range of food on menu (also vegetarian dishes)

“good indian food”
Reviewed August 15, 2012

good location, expensive, service was little slow, but attentive staff.
Lassi is good, Samosas were good, but too oily. Try spinach with cottage cheese.
would go back again

“Great food, but ambiance lacking”
Reviewed June 17, 2012

The menu is quite limited, but the food was very good indeed. This could be a great place, but they need to work on the atmosphere.

“Indian in Interlaken?? Oh, absolutely!!”
Reviewed November 28, 2011

Coming back from Jungfraujoch, late afternoon on the train, the unique landscape disappears behind the lights of the cabin reflected by the windows. Most of the passengers are sleeping - an almost neccessity for the body after a change of altitude of 3 thousand meters (9 thousand feet). Twice: once up and once coming down. As one of th few awaken, we started to discuss the evening plans:
- la Terrace should be the best in town- said my wife.
- yes, the only problem is that it is closed today.
- what says the Michelin guide?
- well, it also suggests an Indian, which is not too far from where we stay.
- an Indian in Interlaken? I would have preferred to try something more...Swiss.

I have to admit that I was also prepared to savour a fondue or anything more elaborated but still Swiss, after a half day in the mountains, this seemed the right choice.

However, going to an Indian restaurant which was evenly grated by the locals and by Michelin seemed an unorthodox but interesting idea (in any case, the word mostly associated with the country where we are coming from is "unorthodox":))

So we went to the Indian...when we have arrived to the resto, it was empty...completely empty. Since the majority of the tourists in town were from the far east, we were not completely surprised...

The waiter was super-friendly, in general the staff was really good, like in the far-East generally, quite a surprise in Switzerland, where the service is impeccable, however still a bit rigid as compared to the Eastern part of our world.

The food was simply excellent. I have never had this quality of Indian food in continental Europe ( London is different but the quality matched here the best and most expensive Indian cuisines in London). I really do not want to go into details, we had a first course, a curry, a tandoori plate and a vegetarian dish, practically all type of served dishes, all of them were outstanding in quality.

And...we had our small Swiss touch to the meal in the form of a really matching Swiss red wine bottle.

Go there an enjoy India in Interlaken. Absolutely.

“Excellent meal in the evening”
Reviewed November 20, 2011

Didn't fancy the look of the other restaurant near the West station, and liked the look of this one. The most perfect lamb dish ever, great atmosphere, no rush, no pressure, nice people, just super food all round. Go there!
