Actually the ropes are mostly cables for some very challenging routes, and fun zip lines. Say hi to Klaus and Ronnie, they made our group outing from the Credo a day to remember. The families I visited with had a great time too as there are special routes for little lizards! The kids had a blast. Just do it! Ask for a group rate and save a little on the CHF...

We went off the usual tourist hiking agenda a bit in the Jungrau area and decided to give the ropes course in Interlaken a splurge on our way out of the valley on our last day there. Boy, were we glad we did! First off, we went on Friday the 29th and had the place mostly to our ourselves (understand, this is not always the case).

We had my wife and myself in our mid 40s and a 15yr old and 10 yr old. My 15yr old had the best day there by far and everybody greatly enjoyed the experience. A little scary at first but the staff was very helpful in showing all the safety tips and also fetching my family a few times when stuck (ok, it was our first time!)

We spent about 5 hours there and were greatly exhausted when finished but this place was done in 1st-class fashion and for a family of four at just over $100 SFr this was a relative Swiss bargain. Some courses themselves (8-9 in total) took about an hour to complete and had numerous obstacles to tackle, including zip-lines, many over 100 feet in the trees.

Highly recommended!

The ropes courses at Seilpark was one of the first things I did upon arriving in Interlaken. What an exciting challenge and memorable experience it was! What they teach you and what you have to learn is surprisingly easy. Just a few (very important) things to remember and you're on your own swinging from tree to tree 20m above ground. I love how they have different obstacle courses from the very easy to the physically demanding. It was all great fun to me but I also found it to be mentally draining. All I can say is that at the end of the day, I've never been more satisfied with the experience. Definitely recommended only if you're not afraid of heights!
