Review of Carlton-Europe Hotel

The hotel was good for the most part. Large and mostly clean rooms. It was quiet and that was good because there is no AC and the windows had to stay open because it was really warm and the fan in the room was not great. The big problem was the smell of the bathroom. The mildew smell was overwhelming to the point we didn't want to use the bathroom. And there was a silverfish problem. I also didn't like having to turn in the keys when ever we left because anyone that said the number could get the key. The staff was friendly though. More

Beautiful hotel!
Beautiful old and quiet hotel in great location. Easy to get to train station and Lake Brienz one way, and just a short walk from the main area of Interlaken the other way. The rooms were charming with very comfortable beds. Breakfast offered lots of options and was delicious. Staff was very kind and gave us bottles of tea both upon checking in and out. Highly recommend!

Excellent hotel and excellent location
Originally chose the Carlton-Europe Hotel for the location and the fact that it is an adult hotel. We were so glad that we made the decision.

The location is perfect to get to the Interlaken OST rail station and to the rest of the town.

The hotel was also perfect. The rooms were clean and comfortable with nice windows that opened. The bedding was also comfortable. The bathroom was nice with good water pressure in the shower.

There is a lift in the hotel, so having a room on an upper floor is not a problem.

The breakfast was included and was very good. There were many choices and all were homemade. Especially liked all the fresh fruit and berries with yogurt.

The staff were all very helpful and friendly. They all spoke multiple languages and always greeted you with a smile.

There are two restaurants attached to the hotel, as well as a Whiskyness bar. There is also a bar in the hotel lobby.

We enjoyed our stay and we would recommend it to others.

Close to Interlaken Ost station
The room and breakfast were adequate. There was a lovely garden with a pool in the rear of the grounds. It was across the road from the funicular and park. The hotel is opposite the large modern Youth Hostel which had an excellent restaurant with healthy and cheap food.

Location is key
In the heart of Interlaken this hotel is well positioned, close the Interlaken OST train station, walking distance to the Casino and local Tour operators and the main street.

This room was the smallest so far in trip, however the location made up this. The hotel was split over 2 buildings connect by the reception desk. The bathroom was small for someone that is 6'4, but I did not travel all the way to sit in hotel room. The room was very traditionally decorated and had limited storage. The hotel offered 2 restaurant plus a stand alone breakfast dining room. One restaurant was steakhouse themed restaurant the other was Fish based Restaurant. It also offered a small bar in the reception area that was serviced by the front desk staff. The Breakfast dinning room had a great selection on offer, very European but a few American influences, the terrace faces over a amazing pool behind the hotel to provide privacy from the general public.

Note the bedding we had was traditional superking with single beds, this is the norm in Europe, but the hotel does offer some great mattress tops to turn the bed into King bed that the Australians and Americans love.

A number of the staff were multilingual, we heard them speaking, German, English and Spanish at one point. The staff were very knowledgeable about the local area and were also able to assist with parking, offer two options of either underneath the hotel and out the front of the hotel.

We did not have a fridge in the room, this did make it a little difficult with the medication that we had to keep cool, but the staff were happy to help.

Beautiful Hotel in Interlaken
The room was very comfortable and had great views of the Swiss Alps. It was roomy with a nice bathroom. Very conveniently located near the railway station and many restaurants. We only stayed one night as we were on our way to Wengen. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We were able to get into our room earlier than expected, which was wonderful so that we could shower and get ready to head to our Funky Chocolate Club experience.
