Comfortable hotel; comfortable spacious rooms; nice for a two day stay. Within walking distance of center of town - probably a 10 minute walk. Very good breakfasts. At times help at the bar and central counter was limited.More

Great location and not much else...
This hotel could win an award for cost cutting!!! There was one tea bag in the room, now really. The quilt was too small for the bed. The single towel was tiny and hard. There was no hair conditioner and the tiny bottle of shampoo was harsh. The bed pretty much filled the room. The bed was low and the mattress thin and unbearable - I awoke with a sore back. The glass topped bedside table was dusty. I did appreciate the wooden floors which were clean. I didn't appreciate that dogs could have slept in here too.

The bathroom was beautifully tiled and had quality fittings and again could win an award for modern engineering, fitting a shower, a toilet and a basin into the tiny space. The dreaded shower curtain surrounding the tiny shower space, clung as I tried not to imagine who was here before me. The toilet roll holder cut my leg it was so squashed in. The light switch triggered the exhaust fan which kept going and going and going VERY noisily long after the light was turned off. The plug from the towel rail hung precariously over the sink.

The dining area had spectacular views over the mountains. Breakfast was fresh and the breakfast staff exceptional. Congratulations and thank you.

The views across the mountains were spectacular. There was a lot of noise from overseas tourists travelling in large family groups who were shouting in their rooms and filling the corridors. Hardly restful.

Apart from the excellent location, I wouldn't have stayed here and believe the youth hostel down the road would be a better option.

Interlaken Trip
Ok place. Location excellent but they must renovate the bath room. It does not drain and there is no water guard. On the top of it, we received an warning mail from management for flooding the bath room. Unless they renovate, will not recommend anyone to this place.

Great location, Average Stay
Hotel Carlton Europe is a heritage hotel situated at walk able distance of 200 M from Interlaken train station. The lobby is full of heritage items and the quadruple room we booked for 350 CHF was consisting of two portions attached together, one having a double bed and other one having two single beds. There was an electric kettle and small Screen TV in the room. The washroom was small, congested and very suffocating. It was hard to take bath with washroom door closed because of the suffocation. Moreover, as the washroom flooring and room flooring was wooden, there was a warning of heavy penalty in case water spills out of the washroom, so we had to take much care for it. Though the bedding was comfortable and room was decorated like a heritage place, with excellent views of the town, I can't rate it as a comfortable and relaxing stay due to the suffocation in the room and washroom especially. Buffet breakfast was average. Not much options.

Great hotel in an excellent location
Just returned from staying here. All the staff were excellent. Breakfast had a good range of fresh food which was still being replenished after 9:45 (breakfast finishes at 10). We stayed half board and all the evening meals were delicious and of a high quality. The restaurant staff led by Pedro were friendly and accommodated all requests from my fussy eating teenagers. You must also try Khalid's cocktails. The room was very comfortable and spacious. I wish I had read the literature properly so that I could have hired a mini fridge to keep milk in!

A well situated hotel with helpful friendly staff
We recently spent 3 nights at the Carlton-Europe Hotel and found it well situated for the Interlaken-Ost train station (5 minutes walk even with suitcases) and this made it very convenient for our train trips especially the Jungfraujoch journey. Our room was large but no air conditioning and as temperatures were in the high 20's low 30's it meant that we had to have the windows open so we had some noise disturbance even situated at the back of the hotel. The breakfast had a very good choice of cereals, fruit, bread etc and they even had an egg boiler should you want a cooked egg.

One odd thing about our room 352 was that it actually contained the fire escape for our floor - this was not pointed out at check in and I feel it should have been mentioned for health and safety purposes. We would have been unaware of safety procedures in the event of a fire - so perhaps management could review the information for guests staying in this type of room.

Every member of staff went out of their way to help, were friendly and for non-German speakers they displayed a good knowledge of many languages which seemed to be appreciated by all the guests. True Swiss hospitality.
