Awesome hotel! The place is great, the facilities are beautiful, and the rooms are spacious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included in our room price and well worth it - the dinig room staff were always attentive and the food choices were more than enough for any discerning taste. The location of the hotel is perfect - just on the edge of town - but easily within walking distance to everything. It is also close to the train station so it makes it the ideal location for day trips. The hotel is also just across the river from the lift to the Harder Kulm, which is a must see for anyone travelling to Interlaken. I would not hesitate staying there again or recommending it to anyone else. Great place! Great staff! It lived up to its 5 star rating and exceeded our expectations. I have stayed at many hotels throughout Eurpoe and this by far is now one of my favorites.

so my mother and i were coming from zermatt and the hotel in zermatt was a 4 star and it was really good and then we went to interlaken where we were staying at the Lindner Grand Hotel Beau Rivage which is a 5 star and we were really looking forward to it and when we reached it looked really pretty from the outside so we obviously thought that the rooms would be very nice and comfortable
After we had checked in we went to the room and as soon as we opened the door we were shocked , really really shocked the bed was ugly and hard and highly uncomfortable , it gave me a back ache .The walls had stains on them. if this hotel was in india trust me it wouldn't even get 2 stars .
the breakfast was decent
we had taken the 3 hour plan for internet in the room and had paid 15 swiss francs and the internet still did not work so we went down to the lobby to ask for help and had to wait for 20 minutes for the lady at the front desk to help us and when she came to attend us and we told her our problem she said that i dont know let me search on the net , i mean seriously ??? are you kidding me ??
so we eventually got pissed off and headed back to the room
FOR A SO CALLED 5 STAR HOTEL THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER
PLEASE DO NOT GO THERE IF YOU WANT TO ENJOY YOUR HOLIDAY

Although the location of this hotel is beautiful the rooms were hot with no temperature control and not cleaned regularly or well. The service was shoddy and the food was sub-par. This was, by far, the worst hotel we stayed at during our travels through Europe.

The location of the hotel is perfect - within walking distance of Interlaken Ost, even with your bags, and it is also close to all of the town's restaurants, parks and shopping. The hotel itself is beautiful, and set right on the river with breathtaking views of the mountains. These are the high points.

Now for the rest...

Our beds: We requested a 3 person room to accommodate our daughter. The extra bed they put out for her was 100 times more comfortable than the old, worn mattresses with visible lumps and indentations on the king bed for us which was really just two twins shoved together. Sadly though, her bed was made up with an old, mildewy-smelling comforter that was gray and disgusting under the duvet cover.

The lobby: The lobby was always packed with guests camping out and sprawled everywhere to access the Internet which was only available from this area.

The restaurant and bar: The first night we arrived, we were tired and wanted to stay in. Rather than dinner, we opted for a bottle of wine and dessert in the hotel bar. The only dessert option was a black forrest cake deconstructed with vanilla ice cream. Sounds amazing, right? The waiter brought it over and placed it on our table saying, "no ice cream, we are out. Okay." And he left. The small piece of cake (4 bites) had been microwaved and the middle 2 bites were so hard and dry that they were impossible to eat. Based on this 12 CFH treat, we opted to steer clear of the hotel for dinner. We did, however, try the complimentary breakfast buffet one morning where we were equally unimpressed with the quality of food. We opted for dinner "in" one other night at the Interlaken Hotel across the street and the food, service and experience was exceptional!

Scheduling: With the "city pass" card the hotel provided, a train ride to the top of Harder Kalm was discounted. We decided to try this for the afternoon and requested the concierge call for lunch reservations at the top of the mountain. After the train ride and a long hike, we arrived at the restaurant only to be told that they had communicated to the hotel that they could not accommodate us at that time. Unfortunately, this was not communicated to us.

The Spa: What spa? Although there is quite an emphasis on their services upon booking and checking in, when trying to reserve services for myself and family, we learned that they had only one masseuse and could accommodate us only one at a time. We opted to go to the Victoria Jungfrau instead which was truly an amazing experience.

Ammenities: The minibar in the room was actually a small refrigerator consisting of 2 beers, 2 bottles of water and a coke. There was also a small bottle of champagne when we arrived which was restocked 3 days later only. Water was not always restocked daily either. The maid service was also unreliable, leaving only 2 towels for the 3 of us at times, cleaning the wood room floor only once during our 4 night stay and never replacing shaving cream or toothpaste. In addition, there was no iron in the room and we were told that none were available for us to use unless we wanted to pay for their laundry service.

All in all, we were terribly dissapponted in our stay here, which was made worse only as we checked out and expressed these concerns and issues to the front desk manager who shook his head the whole time, "yes" and then handed me our bill, not once even acknowledging these issues or apologizing for the poor service.

Great location. Cool property. Average rooms (definitely not five star rooms, our "king suite" was two twin beds with separate blankets pushed together, lamp and mini bar were broken, plus in June the no AC was brutal).
But, the worst was the service. For a five star hotel it was laughable. We walked ourselves and our luggage to our room at check-in. We asked the front desk for hours of the local golf course, after doing a quick internet search and coming up empty handed the final answer was "I don't know". We had no conditioner and lotion in our room, asked the front desk if we could get some - "no". And there were several times where we went to the front desk for questions and after waiting 10+ minutes had to give up for one reason or another because nobody had come to help us.
We are a low maintenance couple...very disappointing.

I love everything about this hotel, especially the heated pool! The entire area are heated, so I didn't feel cold even when I just came out from swim!

That means guests could swim all year round, watching the mountain just right in front of you.

Love the bathroom, it's big, clean, and nice setting!

Breakfast was superb! Love the wide selection of teas!

the hotel is probably one of the best to stay in ....its a 130 years old building which is still visible in the lower wash room from the lobby....5 min walk from the main station and great hospitality...the only hotel i could find better would be victoria...
insist on the front facing rooms..you might have to pay a few extra bucks but its worth it...

Room Tip: smoking is not allowed in the hotel.....only in rooms with balcony....
