I was visiting Interlaken and wanted Indian food. Its a full fledged hotel but I stopped by only for Supper. Food is expensive & not value for money. Taste wasn't authentic Indian and not really up to my palate. Stewardess are very beautiful. The gentleman at reception is very very helpful - so meticulously guided us on a map how to reach the Bahnhof.

This hotel had a great reputation and was our hotel of choice. Formerly it was family run, but was sold at the beginning of 2013. It is now the centre for coach tours and hoards of people come in daily. The breakfast buffet was decimated early in the morning and was not replenished. The evening meal commenced with packet soup and the food although edible, was at best average. When the chef was off, we were given frozen convenience food....not what one would expect in Switzerland. The room was very small and poorly equipped with one small cupboard and no drawer space. The bathroom was tiny.
However I cannot compliment the staff enough for their friendliness and their willingness to help at all times - they are an asset to the hotel

The Harder Minerva Hotel provided us with a fantastic location near both rail stations for daily outings, a very clean and hospitable place to stay, and two most enjoyable meals daily. After six nights, my family and friends weren't nearly ready to leave this small, family-owned hotel. Although this was a budget priced property, the hospitality was first class. English is fluently spoken at the front desk and in the dining room, the hotel has a lift, the rooms were small but well appointed, the service was outstanding, and the welcome was genuine.

Loved it.

Room Tip: Some rooms have small balconies, while others looked out on the street - both were fine. If you need...

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel and it was not good. The room was not clean, the building smells, the bathroom was small, lamp was broken, no heating, and you have to pay for wi-fi and parking. Better to choose a hotel on the outskirts of Interlaken.

Harder Minerva is best sold on it's location. It is the located in the heart of Interlaken , just at the foot of the Harder mountain. It is at the city centre and a 7-8 minutes walk from the Interlaken- West train station. Convenience stores like Coop, restaurants like Hooters and all high-end to mid-sized stores are in it's vicinity. Location is absolutely excellent.

It is a heritage building that gives it a beautiful ambiance. The hotel is a family-run affair, and the owners are really friendly.

Room we got was decent-sized, the bed was a small one (a folding type). The linen & towels were extremely clean though. The wash-basin was in the room itself. No major problems with the room. It had a small TV and the room overlooked Harderstrasse, was also cozy and comfortable.

The only glitch we encountered was that the attached bath-room was locked when we checked in!! When we asked the owners , they said we need to use the common bathroom upstairs. We are really particular about the usage of the bathroom and hygiene hence were surprised as the shared bathroom was not mentioned when booking through the internet. When we explained our disappointment to the owners, they quickly opened up the bathroom and assured us that though it is connected to another room, it is locked from the other side and will be for our personal use only. For the rest of our stay, bathroom was not a problem. It was clean and comfortable as well. Shower was great.

The WiFi is free for an hour and subsequently 3 Euros for every other hour. That was quite OK.

The breakfast was decent in the mornings. We enjoyed it.

The owners told us that the water in the faucets is actually spring water from the Harder mountain and is directly usable for drinking. Didn't try it but interesting piece of information, since natural spring water is rare nowadays.

We had a good experience overall. Decent, safe and family type accommodation in Interlaken, at a very good price.

Room Tip: Categorically state your choice of the bathroom when booking.

My husband and I, along with another couple, just returned from a six night stay at the Harder Minerva Hotel. We chose the plan which included the room and two meals. What a wonderful place. It is a historic building which is kept very clean, the owners and staff are pleasant, friendly and most accommodating and the food is delicious. It is well located to the train stations which we like because we always get the Swiss Rail Pass when we visit Switzerland. We have stayed at this hotel for 18 years at least once a year and have always enjoyed our stay. It is a hidden treasure in Interlaken.

we stayed in this hotel for two nights, by walk it's two minutes from the heart of the city. The staff of this hotel are very nice. This is a very nicely maintained heritage building & value for money. We really felt like at home at this hotel.
