Backpackers Villa Sonnenhof

I stayed here three nights and had the best time. The hostel is big, clean and very welcoming. The staff is super friendly and the breakfast room/reception overlook beautiful mountains. Bedrooms were excellent - nice beds, a fair shower and good sized lockers in the room. One thing that was really annoying is how hot it was in the bedroom, and it wasn't possible to turn down the heating since it's regulated by the hostel staff. But we slept with the windows wide open (while it was -5 Celsius) and that made it a lot better. Awesome hostel to stay in, very much worth the money and time.

Room Tip: Try to get a room in the older part of the building - it's beautiful there!

Hi guys, I would like to thank all the staff of Backpackers for their hospitality. and to others i would like to strongly recommend this for your stay if you going to be in Interlaken. All the staff was very helpful and it was a really a beautiful place to stay, nice friendly environment, good security, wifi, internet, even a good breakfast was included at such low price. Really they have put alot of efforts behind that. Cleanliness was a point which i should not leave to mention here. i am amazed to see how they could provide such service at such low price. not less then any 3 star hotel, and definitely the best hostel you could get in Switzerland. Truly Marvelous...

I had two nights in a small double room over looking the deck. The room was a great size for one person, but would also be fine for two for a couple nights. This hostel is also very environmentally friendly, which adds to the experience! The hostel is immaculately clean and the bathrooms are very comfortable, a good size with great water pressure.

There is a huge kitchen, big common area and breakfast available. The breakfast is pretty good for a hostel as it includes yogurt and cheese. They give you two coins a day for coffee or laundry, which I thought was a great option! They also have breads and cereal available.

The location couldn't be better, directly in between the two train stations. Once you get to the hostel you also get a pass for all transit and the swimming pool down the street.

The staff here are amazing and are always going out of their way to make sure you have all the information you need. You even get some discounts on some of the adventure sports and mountains available.

Of you are even slightly thinking of coming to Interlaken, you need to stay at this hostel. It is amazing.

Room Tip: All the new rooms have ensuite bathrooms and the Jungafru rooms have balconies with mountain views

I stayed here 4 years ago when i first visited switzerland and it was awesome. This time round, when i returned, i decided to stay here again. This place is still as good as it is. It comes with self catering kitchen, free laundry, free wifi, free breakfast and the free perks that one needed as a budget traveller. I stayed in a 6 female dorm and then on my last 2 days in switzerland, i stayed in a ensuite single room. All were great especially the free laundry and dryers available. This place is very popular with korean budget travellers and they can be a little inconsiderate. It also can get quite crowded in the kitchen during dinner time because they like to use the whole kitchen for their cooking. Other than this, it is still a nice place to stay in. In front of interlaken ost, there is a COOP supermarket. In interlaken west, there is a migros supermarket not far from the train station.

Room Tip: The jungfrau rooms are good. The first time i stayed there, they upgraded me to the twin room facing...

We traveled Europe staying in hostels for 3 weeks and Backpackers was the best hostel. The staff is friendly and informative, the location great, and breakfast convenient. It has numerous "little things" that make the hostel great. For example, a pool table and ping pong table outside, clean laundry room, and each day you get 2 cups of free coffee.

My only complaint was the computers which you pay for by the minute have a slow internet connection.

While in Interlaken go canyoning.

Stayed 2 nights in July. Booked room for 4 with private bathroom. Spartan but very roomy and clean. Good basic breakfast. Great staff. Excellent location. Easy walk to train station and easy walk to business district with shops and eateries. Saved over $250 a night by staying here compared to staying in a mid-range hotel. Will gladly go back again.

Trust me! This is the best hostel I've ever ever stayed during my travelling around the world! I really want to stay there for longer only because of the hostel but I had no time. You will definitely have a wonderful stay there! Cheers! ( :

Room Tip: I think from all the rooms there you could have a perfect view of the peak!
